It's been a real long time since we've had any new music involving Jello Biafra. In fact, other than 2000's 3 song Lard EP, Jello hasn't made an album's worth of new musical material since the early nineties....which makes this album all the more thirst quenching. This time Jello has, of course, the legendary and amazing Melvins as his back up and the result is better than anyone could have even dreamed. Please login or register to post comments. FUCKING BRILLIANT!! Everyone must own this album as well as the Jelvin's second one. I was blown the fuck away when I first heard this! Jello is just as great as he ever was. the guy below me is a dumb fuck, we need more people like jello! who cares if it's sensaitonalism, at least it's intelligent! I liked Jello when he was with The Dead Kennedys. I've never liked The Melvins. This record represnets mediocrity at it's best. no way...BSD actually likes something. alert the audience. uh, what about the 70's rock must die cd and stuff. what the hell are you talking about. this cd is super rocking. jello is the absolute man. A gem!!! Amazing stuff. Particuarly love 'Enchanted Thoughtfist' The best political album of the new millenium. What would happen if Jello teamed up with Leftover Crack? "So yeah, even though I work @ AT, I don't like everything we put out (and no, I won't write what I don't like here) so I'm not shittin' ya when I say this is on the list for top 10 records- others include Dwarves, Street Dogs, Lars, Green Day, Blasters, Soviettes, Farewell to Youth, Beastie Boys, Slim Cessna, eX-Girl, Briefs, Post-Haste, The Fast, Zolar X- it's been a pretty good year so far. Heck, adding the reissue of "London Calling" is cheating, so I won't add that." This is a great rock and punk record- I'm glad it's so good 'cause it means I can say it fucking rocks to The Kids with a clear conscience. The rockinest tune, "Yuppie Caddilac," may be lyrically a couple years too late, but it's insanely catchy and cleverly written. Heck, even Pitchfork liked this record- has hell frozen over?!? This CD is alright. It reminds me of Jello's spoken word being sung over Dead Kennedys style music. Islamic Bomb is a perfect example of this point. The songs aren't really catchy or anything like old DK, but it is still a solid purchase. Mr. Biafra needs to make more music more often, but at least musically, given the two Lard records, the one-off on Apocalypse Always with Randy Bachman, and this first of two records with the Melvins he proves once again that the true heart and soul of Dead Kennedys was Biafra, not Ea$t Bay Ray. This cd is really really good. hey fuck off bitch...i was pointing out Jello's delivery, not the content itself, which is still great...but yeah it has been done before. Why are you here twat? --Brandon Sideleau "Thank you Osama, you are the savior of our economy today!" could only come from the amazing Jello Biafra." Bow down to the amazing Jello Biafra and his ultra creative leftist chants. I'm pretty sure its brand new, hasn't been around since the dawn of time. You fucking dolt. Thanks Dave... I just ordered a copy... "I almost picked this up yesterday, but I got the Wrangler Brutes album instead." I just posted two MP3s on the AT website for "Plethysmograph" and "Yuppie Cadillac" which features backing vox from people like: Adrienne Droogas, Wendy-O-Matik, Johnny NoMoniker, John The Baker and the gorgeous Jesse Luscious... "The review sounds promising, but I still want to hear a track or two." This album is very good, although personally I like the DOA and NOMEANSNO albums more. Maybe it needs to grow on me a bit still. (I picked this up and Belvedere's new one and I can't stop listening to Belvedere's...) the guy below me is an idiot. I almost picked this up yesterday, but I got the Wrangler Brutes album instead. i saw ministry play on sunday night, easily one of the best shows i've been too some people would kill you for mentioning ministry and thorbbing gristle in the same sentence. with all this talk of Lard, i have to mention Ministry. how fucking awesome is this band? their new album is probably the most cinvincing of all the neu-anti-bush records circulating as of late. fucking fantastic band. more punk than industrial, these guys are sid vicious/throbbing gristle/michael moore/slayer fucking in a blender. [i]I remember listening to the Lard full-length on a dubbed cassette when my brother would drive me to high school. So fucking good. "The review sounds promising, but I still want to hear a track or two." score is for the artwork alone The Melvins lose all sanity with their backup vocals on the last track or so, if that's them, anyway. I remember listening to the Lard full-length on a dubbed cassette when my brother would drive me to high school. So fucking good. If this is, as their website says, their "most anticipated release this year," why on earth would they not have some MP3s up like they do for every other record they sell? score is for the album cover Holy crap! That's all I've got. But can this possibly top Lard or the stuff with DOA? I know know matter what i'll be a little dissapointed. "i cannot fucking wait to hear this" I was iffy about the Melvins being included, but this review dashes my doubts. I just got his album with DOA a few weeks ago. i cannot fucking wait to hear this you're such a melvin, dude. this album was boring the first time i heard |
