As we enter the last month of the year, it's almost become certain that 75% of the fine young music enthusisasts reading this is absolutely disgusted with the non-stop barrage of 80s-inspired offerings as of late. From Interpol's Joy Division odes and Franz Ferdinand's tributes thereof all to The Killers' New Order aping, the majors are thrusting a rehashment of two decade-old sounds into our laps, and we either welcome it into our tightly sewn, crotched laps or vomit at the very sight and sound of it. Action Action is the latest addition to this lineup, and what they're doing is a fair representation of the fad as a whole, if not relatively unoriginal and a bit weighty on the uninspired side despite the title that seems to imply everything this album isn't.

It's all in the book http://www.trinitytc.com/888/casino-directory-2005.html Awesomely original I thought this Album was unbelievable... The improvement, and the new sound... I love it. There live show is amazing as well, At the El Torrean in KC Missouri they allowed everyone to get onto the stage with them and dance. How Cool is that? The band is awesome, and their songs are sweet as well. I thought this Album was unbelievable... The improvement, and the new sound... I love it. They rock... I saw them last tuesday w/ the All-American Rejects and I am now in love with them!! well fuck the comment thing. tening to this cd! I think this album is absolutely brilliant! Mark's lyrics are amazing, some of the best I've heard in a long time. The music is amazing too. I can't stop listening to this cd! The killers, Franz Ferdinand and Action Action are all very good bands. I bought all their cds. that title is kinda ironic considering that they are basing their music on every popular alt. band now days "Actually Hackman says "Don't cut your cloth to this years fashion," in the Royal Tennenbaums. It seems Action Action can't get anything right." Actually Hackman says "Don't cut your cloth to this years fashion," in the Royal Tennenbaums. It seems Action Action can't get anything right. clarke and adam from count the stars are the lamest kids in the world. "You can't listen to Antics and Unknown Pleasures and then say straight-faced there are little to no similarities between the two." "You know what's kinda dumb? Saying "so 2 years ago" and meaning it." Now that's how you review a cd!!! Great job. (score's for da review) brian diaz was the only member of the reunion show that was in ednas goldfish. action action has nothing to do with him. "Don't cut your fabric to this years fashion? Oh, ok.. so.. Step Lively (Ska) in '99, Reunion Show (Keyboard-heavy pop) in '02, and now this psuedo New Wave shit?? Yeah, Ok. That makes sense." You know what's kinda dumb? Saying "so 2 years ago" and meaning it. Very nice review Brian. Don't cut your fabric to this years fashion? Oh, ok.. so.. Step Lively (Ska) in '99, Reunion Show (Keyboard-heavy pop) in '02, and now this psuedo New Wave shit?? Yeah, Ok. That makes sense. Franz kinda reminds me of Dinosaur, Jr. and Echo and the Bunnymen. With a little bit of Flock of Seagulls winking pastiche thrown in as well. If it's pseudo-elitiist of me to draw widely-agreed comparisons that make sense to me as well when listening to both bands, then I guess I have an illegitimate pedestal below me that needs some chopping. "I enjoy a couple of Joy Division tunes, but c'mon, it's been more than 20 years since Curtis did himself in, I think it's finally okay to admit that Joy Division's are given way too much credit and on the whole, their music wasn't all that great." The Killers were on Conan awhile back and the singer looked like shit, he was all out of breath and everything, they were boring. I guess thats what happens when a shitty band gets popular and is all over the telly, they get to see what shit America loves. "From Interpol's Joy Division odes and Franz Ferdinand's tributes thereof all to The Killers' New Order aping, the majors are thrusting a rehashment of two decade-old sounds into our laps." i kinda like the sample track. it keeps my attention throughout the length of the song. of course, i'm pretty stoned so... "Back on subject, I absolutely hate it when labels put stickers on new band's albums proclaiming "IF YOU LIKE Trendy Hot Selling 'Indie' Band, THEN THIS IS FOR YOU." Its like hot pants--instant turnoff. Way to go Victory. There's a reason no one likes you." Let us not forget that Bernard Sumner was "Bernard Albrecht" when he was in Joy Division, and also sported a horrible-looking moustache for awhile there. Uggh. "It is now scene to say you don't like The Smiths or Joy Division..........I'm confused?! " Its officially gone full circle. It is now scene to say you don't like The Smiths or Joy Division..........I'm confused?! Haha, so BSD, when you speak your mind, you're just engaging in discussion even though it always sparks internet fights, but I'm just posting flame bait. Right. Obvious flame bait... Or maybe it's just a jewish guy. "Yeah... It's weird. Interpol sound like Ian Curtis lost lots of brain cells and started singing for a generic NYC bar-rock band. " this band sucks. this review sucks. Don't Cut Your Ears Off In Horror of the Music. "I bet a lot of people (not critics, but kids) who say Interpol sound like Joy Division have never even actually listened to Joy Division." boring. these guys suck kangaroo testicles I bet a lot of people (not critics, but kids) who say Interpol sound like Joy Division have never even actually listened to Joy Division. "Don't Spend Your Money on This Year's Worst Album" comment below from colossal bandit Fuck this, I liked the Reunion show, washed up 80's shit is lame, does anyone know what happened to Skully? he was the coolest guy ever, as for brian diaz and the other guy, well i heard Diaz was an asshole...nice review When did the reunion show break up? Should've given this to Jesse to review It never ceases to amaze me, when a band like the Killers starts selling their record and BOOM OUTTA NOWHERE at my work there is this horrible pink creation in the Rock/Pop section that features a huge disclaimer on the cover reading: if you love the Killers or Franz Ferdinand then cut your clothes to Action Action's fabric" Victory strikes again Hahahaha. Ex-Count the Stars? The E-card's song are very boring and uninspiring. Oops, I meant "ode" not "odd." Brian, I usually like you and your reviews, but I'm going to have to give you shit for this one. The only thing your opening paragraph does is make it clear that you yourself are sick of bands who are breathing new life into the sounds of underground 80s music, and that may be because you don't really know much about either. "the only dance-punk band that matters is les savy fav" Ah. I've always been impaitient, so forgive me. This band is a sad joke. That album title is pretty ridiculous coming from a bunch of kids who were in pop punk/emo bands last year. "Don't Cut Your Fabric" indeed. i want the trapdoor fucking exit review!!!! (please) Prime, I would've loved to post the GCF review, honestly, but there's been ones sitting around for the longest time. I'm just starting to clean house now. Is my Good Clean Fun review up to snuff? This score is for posting album reviews early in the day on Friday. This way I can both waste work time and hit the records store if something strikes my fancy. the only dance-punk band that matters is les savy fav This score is for posting album reviews early in the day on Friday. This way I can both waste work time and hit the records store if something strikes my fancy. This is quite possibly in my top ten albums of the year. So catchy... A hell of a lot different from The Reunion Show, as well. I have always liked pretty much all of the bands that get name dropped these days- New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo and the Bunnymen, Joy Division, The Cure, The Smiths, The Modern Crucifixion, Tears for Fears, Genesis, The Replacements, whatever (sorry, but I have an older brother who pushed this on me when I was in grade school in the early 90s). god damn it i meant "wears" brian weres tight pants i was wondering how long it would take for that to get deleted... 10 minutes. not bad. ironic title for such a trendy album |
