I must admit I have a soft spot for Enemy You. They were the first live band that I ever saw when I saw them open up for NOFX nearly six years ago now. After that show I was constantly listening to their first album Where No One Knows My Name, released in 1999, as I walked down my high school halls with my headphones on giving me the excuse of avoiding talking to all those people you always say “Hi” to but you couldn't actually care less about. I really loved that album and could not get enough. Sadly for me, all Enemy You had released since WNOKMN was a few songs on comps and two seven inches. Needless to say, I was very excited to hear an entire album of new material.

What a fucking CD.....Thank you!!! Honestly, I think you're totally crazy. I got this album when the buzz for it was highest, and found it to be universally dissapointing. Generic pop-punk with slightly better-than-average subject matter. Unfortunately, that subject matter is presented in a bullshit pop-punk fashion. Dissapointing. This great piece of music was worth the many years of waiting. Damn good classic melodic punkrock! As someone said before here, I love it when bands stick to what they're good at. It's energetic, sometimes a bit poppy but always catchy punkrock. I like 'em that way... a lot. OK, maybe a 10 is somewhat too euphoric, but for me it definitely was a 9 Oh hell yeah. These guys sound good. I certainly don't buy cds by bands of this genre anymore, but for what they do they do it damn well. this is a 5 star record for sure, the score's a keeper and so is this record. Woah this band is awesome! I love this band. I met David Jones when they played at this little place called Koo's Cafe in Anaheim, really nice guy. "these guys suck kangaroo testicles" these guys suck kangaroo testicles Walter- after school special was awesome, this band is good. i liked where no one knows my name these guys suck kangaroo testicles I used to listen to Jones's old band After School Special, way back in the day, but never checked out Enemy You. hmmf Yeah I realize 10 was a bit high and it deserves more like an 8, but I had already submitted the review. This is my first review though and I wrote it at 1 at night while taking a break from writing a research paper on the Crusades so I wasn't 100% with it. Eh, nothing too special, nothing bad. Can anyone actually give me the name of a punk band? not pop punk or hardcore punk....just straight up. because i've seen bands on here like dillinger four being called pop punk when i thought they were a pretty good example of a regular punk rock band... i also bought this interpunk, it rules. Yeah. Obviously if you think the Lookout label equates to quality you have no idea what you're talking about. Yeah, wow. So I found this band's "Where no one knows my name" LP in the throwaway/free bin at my local record store. It had the lookout logo on it so i figured it couldn't be THAT bad. Yeah. It was. I threw the fucking thing away. Mad props to Enemy You, one of the first punk bands I listened to. I'm glad they're still on it. yea, do what you're good at, don't challenge yourself because you'll only disappoint us, and really, it's all about us. I might have to get this. I'm glad somebody is sticking to their guns and not doing something "experimental". Haha I commented before I read the review and the reviewer says the same thing. Pop-punk-wise I have a soft spot for these guys. You better believe I'm ordering this the second I sell enough shit on ebay to afford it. |
