This is actually Sum 41's 2nd DVD release. So in the short time that this band have had major success, they have had 2 DVDs out (excluding the double pack and unofficial ones). So what's so different from the last DVD then?

Well, for a start, Introduction To Destruction was largely based on All Killer No Filler whereas Sake Bombs... is mostly based on the songs from Does This Look Infected? (see track list at the bottom). I was largely disappointed to discover that "Machine Gun" and "Grab The Devil" are the only songs from the older days, but nevertheless I was still quite impressed with the tracks featured.

Anyone who has seen or heard Sum 41 live will know that Deryck Whibley is no Pavarotti (slightly plump Italian opera singer) when it comes to singing live. This is true for the first few songs, but by the 5th song he seems to have sorted his voice out.

They do put on quite a good performance and add something new to the songs. The solos and drums are excellent throughout. Recording quality is top notch and sound is also available in 5.1 Surround. It would be impossible to choose my favourite track because even my least favourite songs are made more enjoyable than usual.

I would say that this is a good purchase for anyone who is a really big fan (i.e. owning more than one album), but don't be disappointed with the lack of older songs. Another thing: the crowd are annoying as hell with their one finger gestures or their Sum 41 salute, but if you ignore them, the whole experience is improved.

    Black Flag's DVD is just of the show and that's it....they need a full retrospective....with videos of shows from every era of the band....with interviews and shit. And with regards to your comment about Flipper? Go kill yourself BSD, Flipper live would blow the shit out of any band today....nuff said.

    Black Flag does have a live DVD... Flipper aren't worth a DVD (well, they are moreso than Sum 41, but they still suck)... Bad Brains have a number of bootlegs, and they're about as good quality as you're gonna get for 80's stuff. Ditto for Misfits and The Minutemen.

    the fact that these guys released two dvd's has no effect on whether or not your fave bands have released dvds...so get over it...its not as if sum 41 didnt release this then the money used to make it would go into a big pool that allows for other bands to make dvds

    Too many bands release dvds too early in their careers. If it was up to me, dvds would only be comissioned as retrospectives chalk full of live footage from the hay days and a doco. That way we could avoid a lot of crap.

    Sum 41 is good at what they do, I guess... but bands like Strung Out have way more respect and have yet to release a DVD...

    Better bands need DVDs.

    2 DVDs released for a a bunch of twenty something pop-punkers? That's just not fair.

    These guys are way more tolerable than most. They know how to write a catchy tune or two.

    And the shenanigans on the other DVDs are hilarious. A friend of mine showed them to me and I was laughing my ass off.
