It would be a sheer impossibility to pinpoint exactly where Sinai Beach goes wrong on their new album, Immersed. Perhaps the incredibly clichéd instrumental track “Apocalypse” contributes to it. The album’s next track, “Obedience Through Desecration,” would be borderline enjoyable without the wailing, not even melodic vocal interludes. “The God I Would Be” doesn’t exactly redeem Sinai Beach, either. Whether by accident or design, Sinai Beach tend to ruin their songs about 2 minutes into it with the vocal alterations.

please dont tell me u just sed hawthorn height are better than sinai beach other wise u have fukn issues Metalcore is a dying genre, it was at its peak, but this album I found pushed through the sea of wannabes and ripoffs. Sinai Beach put what I though was an interesting blend of metal, hardcore, and rock. The crooning voals are that reminiscent of Glenn Danzig, which I found pretty awesome, since not a lot people croon anymore. Crooning is one the most true forms of singing, it comes from the soul. Unlike a lot of the singing these days that are pretty much monotone. Plus, they don't play in a dropped-B or w/e tuning, which I give SB respect because people believe you always have to drop tune a the first string to make hardcore or w/e. CJs gotta go back to the old clean vocals, not the Danzig shit... Reality Check for Silly Field. CJ can sing and the album is good with some mini type solos that are good... There's some better choices but Sinai Beach kicks ass. I love this album and I love CJ's singing Ouch, two points to Sally. This is probably one of the worst album reviews I have ever read. Did you even listen to it? And who cares what label a band is on, or whatever that labels website might say, it should be about the music. I Bought this album not having listened to previous SB albums...when the first came on it sounded really good...but then...the stupid synths came up...ugh...ok, I could live with it....all the other songs sound really good, but the singing is HORRIBLE. Who told him he can sing? He sounds like that guy on Mushroom head. The singing alone makes me not recommend this album to anyone. This is probably one of the worst album reviews I have ever read. Did you even listen to it? And who cares what label a band is on, or whatever that labels website might say, it should be about the music. to the person below me, you lost all cred when you said hawthone heights were good. This band is rockin weather you admit it or not, and to make them even better is that there a god fearing group of people that sing about not always positive things but, the truth. victory sign some good bands and hawthorn heights is one of them. If you never heard of The Showdown, witch you might have already. check em out there awesome. what is everyone's fixation on the fact that they are christian, yeah its a big part of how they are personally but c'mon christian, mormon, buddahist, whatever religion you are doesn't matter. what comes down to it is whether you can write good music. "....cutting it as a christian metalcore band..." I think that person was talking about singing, not screaming. And there is even a right and wrong way to scream. If you scream wrong you can get sick and throw-up or lose your voice, so yeah it does take talent "CJ's vocals just show how talented he really is " that may be true but you cannot say a band sucks simply because they are on victory, that's ignorant because a person would accept a contract from Victory, in no way makes existing bands on Victory not suck. You can't know a whole album by listening to just 30 seconds of it. And thats pretty ignorant to say that all victory bands suck. If you don't listen to them you don;t know, get over yourself because you know that if you had a band and victory would push, you'd be on it to. Get off you high horse and step into realtiy. If you had any ears at all you would think this was a good album. People are just butt hurt that Sinai Beach decided to go more metal on this album. There are still breakdowns to mosh to and dance to at shows. CJ's vocals just show how talented he really is and you can't blame him for wanting to show them off because I bet that if any other frontman with his vocals would do the same thing. As far as orginality, there is alot. They structure their songs lke pop songs to make the songs more catchy and thats what makes them different. I just think you are bitter because they are not as hardcore or whatever they used to be. Please explain what this is supposed to mean. Is it a critique of their writing ability, their taste in music, or something entirely different? the only good band on victory records is streetlight manifesto Grade Integrity Warzone and grey area Warzone were on Victory. Victory has had some good bands, and still has a few good ones. its too bad this sucks cuz the cover is sweet. my score is for the cover art "its on victory. i could tell you how shitty this band is without even listening to it." Pinkies up for this review. wow harsh. i thought it was pretty good And by “it,” I mean managing to be a relatively good Christian metalcore band. wow harsh. i thought it was pretty good Weird, I can't get that damn backslash to show up. i loved this band's first two ep's, but i couldn't get into one track on this entire album. boo. Yeah so many clichés here that were pretty rad once uopn a time, but are now way too often seen/heard: the review wasnt great...but the band is worse. I just wanna know... its on victory. i could tell you how shitty this band is without even listening to it. and yes i did listen to it and there goes 30 seconds of my life i won't get back. Score for this: "m/" "For a label who boasts bands such as Hawthorne Heights and Straylight Run, it’s not surprising to read something along the lines of “There are no apologies. Only brutality” on Victory’s website describing Sinai Beach."" "If this is metalcore, I ain’t buyin’." |
