Hmm...This one was interesting. The first time I heard it, I can't say that I was a fan. I am a BIG Anti-Flag fan, but this album didn't do it for me as much as their previous releases did. At first listen, I remember saying to myself "Why the hell does track 7 have like, 4 chorus'?!??!?" I was ready to give the album a two and call it endless ramble that went on and on with no point, other than "this nation sucks." But after my second and third listens, I definitely got used to it. I even began to like it. I realized that track 7 only had one chorus and it was a good one. It was another good political CD from the Pittsburgh punx of Anti-Flag. With great guitar and bass as usual, the guys made a good album. They had some great tracks like "This Machine Kills Facists," "Daddy Warbux," and "Until It Happens to You." I must say that I was pretty impressed. The album has a couple of strong tracks, overall, it is pretty good, but its definitely no Die for Your Government, nor is it at the standards of Their System Doesn't Work for You, and no, not A New Kind of Army either, its the worst of their albums, but I still think you should pick it up. Should u have run out and gotten it on the day of its release like some people *cough* ME *cough* did? No. You can wait on this one, but eventually, go out and get it, or atleast give it a listen, it doesn't completely suck...

So where the fuck is the review of the album? I think anti flag is a fuckin awesome band. They are a new version of old school punk, they are fuckin origional, unlike all of the other punk bands out there today!!! The reviewer is insane. This is one of the most punk records ever... And yeah it's greater than the not-so-good-orriented and bad-sounded A new kind of army. dude, im not allowed to get a job, shutup good album...not their best...but I dont really think they care if they please us or not. I can't believe some people's comments about this album! Is this album even comparable to The System...? well, no but love 'em or hate 'em their focus on alternative media and sing-along choruses show they are all about getting the message out and progressing. i think it's difficult to say they're poseurs too after meeting them and knowing straight-hand that punk is what af stands for. one last thing about "loving or leaving this country." it would suck to live in a third world country and the quality of life would be drastically reduced to the level here. that doesn't mean we should be happy though! our stand in the United States is fucking pathetic! why do you think those third world countries are so bad off? you can thank imperialistic countries like the United States for exploiting and reducing these poor countries to their current levels. These guys are poseurs, plain and simple. The anti-government thing has been done to death. Where are the solutions then boys? DO something positive. Its easy to bitch, but ahrd to make a change. i hated this album at first too...i think the problem is you can't write album after album after album of just complete anti-government lyrics with one song of different subject matter...it seems like the lyrics on this one arn't like they used too be...i think i've heard "you've gotta fight for you rights!" rymed one too many times...and it seems like they just kept repeating "stand up and fight...they're trying to take away our rights!"...they just don't hit as hard as they used too...i loved "bring out your dead" though...that song is really great... Just wanted to mention that "This Machine Kills Facists" is a Woody Guthrie reference. I think thats pretty cool. althought the album is decent ( cuz i heard it ) this REVIEW FUCKIN SUCKS . get a fuckin job !!!!! |
