Cry Havoc sound like they were raised on a steady diet of bands like Strung Out, Pennywise, and Thrice. Their sound is fast, melodic, and technical punk, packed full of octave chord leads and pull off-based riffs with just a hint of metal. While this genre is well-worn territory, Cry Havoc are able to hold their own. The problem here is that for some reason Cry Havoc likes to incorporate modern rock elements into their punk sound.

Great album. I disagree with this review. There is no reason to pin-hole any band into a single genre. One of the main reasons I like Cry Havoc is because of their ability to mix multiple styles of music into one smooth, continuous song. Which not to mention have some remarkable guitar solos, and an overall energetic sound. I didn't know there was a rule to the form of writing and trying different things. Trying to add a different sound to something that has already been done. Cry Havoc is the only band out there right now that is keeping it real. They aren't screaming and writing lame ass emo songs. As though their music might change as they grow to be better song writer's. You will always be able to tell they have that punk influence which many bands now a days had just to trendy to show it. So "F" this review. Buy this "F"ing cd. This score is for the Kool-Aid analogy. That was fucking genius, dude, give yourself a pat on the back. what's wrong with mixing a little rock with your punk. It is called punk "rock" ya know... totally off review. this is definitely one of the best cds this year. this is probably the equivalent of a wilhelm scream's cd last year.
