PilotScottTracy is ex-Causey Way. They sound like, well, ex-Causey Way. It's as simple as that. Well, almost. Take the Causey Way, and add more of a '77 punk influence. And the vocals are a little less goofy. But that doesn't stop the first song "Human Earthquake" from sounding like an old Murder City Devils song. I mean, c'mon, it's hard to separate any 3-chord punk with an organ song from MCD. But trust me, this album is all fun and rock. Well, except for "Return To My Home," which is almost four minutes and not nearly as fun as "Human Earthquake" or "Right On," which are both just shy of two minutes.

I'm glad to see a review of this. I was a bit let down by this album compared to their first record, but it got much better after a few listens. As much as I like PST, it really just makes me miss the Causey Way more. THE CAUSEY WAY IS NOT A CULT. If you liked Causey Way (who were doing the electro-synth thing years before a lot of the current crop of electopunk bands), you'll dig PST. A lot of synth, a lot of pop, pretty wide open and breezy like Causey or Barcelona. YOu can say what you want about AT, but at least there is a wide variety of bands on the label. Seriously, from Alice Donut to Man is the Bastard? it's no causey but it is still fun "I'm wasn't wearing socks to begin with." Speaking of Casio. I put in the Harvey Birdman Season One DVD the other day and what do I hear? Fucking Wesley Willis. Awesome. | Features
