It's almost a shame that "Paranoia Cha Cha Cha" was the Soviettes' contribution to the widely distributed Rock Against Bush compilations. While thematically hitting the nail on the head, compared to the bulk of their latest record the track is just tragically normal. Competent little punk rock tunes are one thing; the brilliantly energetic, multi-voiced, smartly written two-minute masterpieces of LPIII are another entirely.

Suck. Great record. I can't believe that I waited so long before picking it up. This is actually realy good. I wish I would have got it sooner. strike anywhere really isnt that good... who has listened to them in the past 2 years? "because people like the dude below are just gonna pigeon-hole them as shite before even giving it a listen." "The Soviettes fuckin' rock. Don't forget about Good Riddance getting back together. And now Fat have Strike Anywhere also. "fat has like 5 good bands..against me!, propaghandi, rise against, mfgg, ok, so maybe they only have 4 good bands." The Soviettes - LPIII "fat has like 5 good bands..against me!, propaghandi, rise against, mfgg, ok, so maybe they only have 4 good bands." A good review will always make somebody who's never heard the band want to purchase the album anyway. Holy shit! That would have been a badass show! The Soviettes and Toys That Kill ripped up the Ivy Room last night- it was great! "since this is on fat, you can already assume this sucks. dont trust 16 year olds" great stuff, easily their best record yet. this is up there with smoke or fire and paint it black for album of the year... at least so far. I love this band and I love this record. OH YEAH My friend got this CD the other day and we listened to it in the car. He loved it. I really couldn't get into it though. It's not something I'd go out and buy, but it's not horrible. To the guy who said he was bored with LP II and asked how this was: "I need to move to Minneapolis." Thanks, I just went around my city to every record store looking for this cd after reading this review, but to no avail, what the fuck FAT ? I need to move to Minneapolis. "since this is on fat, you can already assume this sucks. dont trust 16 year olds" I remember the trustkill days.... well ok I remember liking Opposite of December back in like what? 2000? Best label ever.... come on. Lets hear it for HARVEST!!!! This band are very cool indeed, looking forward to picking this up soon. Can't we start hating Trustkill now? This is good, I love this band, but wheres the Black Halos review? This album reminds me of everything from the Red Aunts, Go Gos, Dance Hall Crashers to the one singer's husband's band D4... "since this is on fat, you can already assume this sucks. dont trust 16 year olds" The Soviettes fuckin' rock. I love the song "Paranoia Cha Cha Cha" but was bored with LP II. So how will I feel about LP III? Thanks in advance for the help. "Paranoia Cha Cha Cha" is definately my favorite Soviettes song, but from what you say, the songs on this are better? Wow. Gotta pick this up." >>>since this is on fat, you can already assume this sucks. dont trust 16 year olds. "Paranoia Cha Cha Cha" is definately my favorite Soviettes song, but from what you say, the songs on this are better? Wow. Gotta pick this up. "since this is on fat, you can already assume this sucks. dont trust 16 year olds." These girls and guy rock my world! TGIF~! since this is on fat, you can already assume this sucks. dont trust 16 year olds. I was looking through reviews today, and all the reviews I was curious on Adam reviewed. Well... I only looked at Greg Macpherson and the Epoxies, but my conclusion is that he reviews the cool stuff. great stuff, easily their best record yet. this is up there with smoke or fire and paint it black for album of the year... at least so far. I really dig this band. I've been turned off of pretty much all of the new punk rock coming out these days, but this is one of the few bands kicking around that are doing something quality that sounds fresh and familure all at the same time. I ordered this CD from interpunk a few days ago so I eagerly await for it to arrive in my mailbox, hopefully within 24 hours. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Just bouncy, snotty punk-pop in the more throwback sense, sorta like the Bangles on speed. The guy who sings like Fred Schneider isn't a bad touch, either. Not only that, there aren't any token ballad songs á la that video they released off LPII. fuckin one step behind toledo at every fuckin stepping stone in my life. Are there females in this band? |
