Enthusiasm goes a long way. Nobody wants to listen to an apathetic, going-through-the-motions punk record that makes you think the band would rather be doing anything else but recording the songs they’re playing. It’s a total downer, and thankfully the opposite is true with Suspect Device and their 2004 effort A Moment’s Notice. Twelve tunes of Social Distortion-inspired punk rock that are each an anthem in and of themselves.

nice to see these guys finally getting noticed, they're pretty fucking awesome The SLF thing honestly didn't click with me until after I had already submitted the review. The Naked Raygun cover of "SD" is worth tracking down, if you haven't already heard it. Yeah, I like heard that this band is named after some old band's song, but I can't remember the name of that band...or that song. Little help? Not to mention the fact that Suspect Device is the most famous song off their most famous album. Yeah, it sounds a lot like Stiff Little Fingers. Wow. You dropped the ball on this one. Social Distortion influenced? Maybe Stiff Little Fingers influenced, you know, since they took their band name from a SLF song. Ouch. no mention of stiff little fingers? |
