The Word PlayThe Right To Bear Arms (2005)Sen Tre Fo Reviewer Rating: User Rating: Contributed by: Anchors (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on August 23rd 2005
It’s a lot of things to a lot of people. It’s a few paragraphs that now reside in the Smithsonian museum of American History, it’s an excuse for beer swilling, raccoon hunting, Confederate flag-waving Southerners to own weapons, and it’s a debut album by the Word Play. Stumped? Of course you are. It’s The Right To Bear (Bare) Arms. And what’s most is that it’s a fun, technically sound indie rock album that defies any direct comparisons I could try and make. Though I’ll be damned if I won’t try by the end of this review, but in the meantime I suppose you’ll want to know why I think this is worth your time and money.

The comparison is easy, they sound like they're trying to play First EP or Mind is not Brain by Mock Orange... so basically another band that rips off SDRE's "How it Feels to Be Something On." ive been called many a thing, retard included, but i was able to track downtheir email address on theier website. im sure they might be able to help you out, namecaller. Good lord.. are you a retard? Their website says nothing about this release. Stop talking!! The only place where there is information is on their myspace account, which is hardly the best resource for where to buy a CD. By the way, it's at SmartPunk if anyone's interested. "Did you actually try to find this on Google? I found nothing aside from the band's website. Don't be such as ass about it." well, the songs on their myspace were "manatee attack" and "the crooked house", so i guess it doesn't extend past the album title. so, is like every one of their tracks a little "word play" or just the album title...is that this bands schtick. Did you actually try to find this on Google? I found nothing aside from the band's website. Don't be such as ass about it. sorry to hear youve never heard of these things called search engines. try "www.google.com". where can you even find this album. I've consistently kept "manatee attack" in my playlist for almost a year and I could never find a release from these guys. | Features
