Henry Rollins is a busy man, that's for damn sure. He seems to be on tour 80% of the year doing his trademark spoken word, and when he's not doing that he's releasing books, music or, as in this case, DVDs.

is the masturbation technique the one about the toilet at the hotel or whatever? if so, youre right, it is quite funny, but its kinda old Instead of "KFK, did you mean "KMK", as in Kotton Mouth Kings, the greatest band of all time? Oh....and one more thing Will.....if he's on tour or otherwise really busy he usually won't respond.....check his website for his downtime between tours, that would be my guess as to the best time to reach him. I've only reviewed one thing that I really hated for this site (Punk-O-Rama 7 I think) and there are also many reviews from my "early days" that I regret writing because i find the records really lame now (KFK anyone? 98 Mute?). I'd like to write more negative reviews but most records I dont like I usually can't sit through/analyze (I don't wanna write an uninformed half-assed review) and they end up becoming frisbies. But I do want to, so perhaps I'll try to beat my own weakness and listen to a shitty record from beginning to end....but I sure as hell won't buy it- soulseek here I come! just email the 2.13.61 site.....it will be forwarded to him. Sometimes he doesnt reply.....but 6 out of 10 of my emails over the past 5 years have gotten good responses. He's pretty cool/friendly about it and won't go off on you if you're friendly about it. Have you ever reviewed something you don't like? (Not that your reviews are bad) Hey Brandon, I actually tried that, but it was with his IFC thing. And I never got a reply. People have no protection from the police....and given the TIME and CONDITIONS under which Mumia's incident took place, there is reason enough for a re-trial. If a cop beats you up for no reason how do you defend yourself? You can't, because if you do it's considered assault on a police officer or, in worse cases, cop killing. And whose word are they gonna take? Of course it will be the cops. I'm not saying Mumia's innocent, but I AM saying that (like the WM3) he needs a fair and just re-trial. And as far as Henry not caring about the civilians goes.....I know he shys away from it at his shows....but Henry says alot in interviews and on his shows that you might have missed. I've heard more than a few occasions where he's attacked SOME of our troops on their bullshit (IE the prisoners being abused). Not to mention that he openly criticized the Navy for not throwing the officer who wiped out those Japanese fishermen in prison for "Vehicular manslaughter". You should give him an email Will if you really wanna know his thoughts, I don't wanna sound preachy, but he'll usually respond and answer your questions thoroughly if you ask nicely. I agree that at times he seems a bit contradictary.....but then I hear an interview or spoken word piece that puts it into place. Overall he probably has the best intentions I'm sure. "Yea, because Jello would never run off at the mouth about something he is not entirely familiar with. I used to have mixed feelings about Henry Rollins, and in a way I still do, but it's really becoming more solidified how much he pisses me off in comparison to how much I respect his opinion. ha. seriously is the picture down there supposed to be a "viva hate" parody? Whats the matter man? henry just got word the gonorhea test results came out positive. Well at least you got rid of the 4 bars thing. The problem is that Henry looks like he's feeling "not so fresh". HAHA...the spit thing is true.....I was at his McCabes show last year and every time he'd get real intense white drops of spittle would fly out of his mouth and land right at my feet. ever hear that z-trip/chuck d song shock and awe? i'm not sure if this is the one i got my roommate or not. he is great on these tours, though i sat dead center in the front for this tour when it came through ann arbor last year and all i could do was watch the spit fly out of his mouth and just become grosser and grosser because he doesn't drink water during the show and i'm sure his mouth dries out. it was just huge white foamy chunks of spit. good thing he was back about 10 feet from us... I never saw Jello presenting a show about people building lame trucks then driving them into things... Don't compare Jello with Rollins, Jello is an idiot, Henry is actually well spoken and respectable. Henry is (much like fellow punk elder and activist Jello Biafra) very well read on his subjects and is careful not to attack things he is not entirely familiar with. i think he looks like stifler from american pie on that cover what the fuck, is that morrissey down there in black and white? He looks like George Bush on that cover i thought it was santa See, everywhere...just like Elvis... LOL I ONLY LIKE KEITH MORRIS BLACK FLAG Has anyone gone to this current tour? Saw the tour he did to make this DVD. Awesome shit. I've seen him before and own some of his live work and I'm amazed he hasn't lost an edge. He's actually managed to become a more well rounded performer with voices and more energy than a car battery clamped to your nipples. |
