Certain indications of an album can tell you how good it’s going to be before you even get a chance to listen to it. Nothing’s a sure thing, but I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that before listening to Throw Rag’s 13 Ft & Rising, the advertised appearances of Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmeister, the Dead Kennedys' Jello Biafra, and finally Keith Morris of Black Flag and Circle Jerks fame, are an indication of good things to come.

I love Throw Rag, and I agree with the comments below that they're one of THE best live acts out there, but this album is a disappointment. It's still good, but go with one of the other two before checking this one out. throwrag is like no other i love them My dog got sprayed by a skunk and the smell moved its way into my mouth and it tastes like blood and semen Man, you must be a wet blanket to hate their live show. i think their live show is just right i loved their live show I hated their live show i saw them in LA this summer. great live show. I still haven't really heard this band, but this sounds really great. hey. that chappel must be in New Orleans!! i was hoping for more with both the collaboration tracks. but this album is rocking |

"“Children Of The Secret State” is an interesting way to send the album out, as it’s less a song than Biafra speaking a piece that reads like a public service announcement, until a 5-second frenzied piece of music comes in with Keith Morris screaming at the helm."
Just to clarify... Keith isn't the one doing the screaming, it's the Captain himself. Keith's part is at the end, the talking that sounds like it was recorded on answering machine (it was).
