The Dead Milkmen are one of my favorite `80s pop-punk bands, probably only behind the Descendents. I'm not too much of a pop-punk fan but I really liked this album.

i was raised by wolves the bahamas are islands love me two times baby, once for tomorrow, once cause i got aids Making landing strips for gay aliens. Do you know what the queers are doing to the soil? The Dead Milkmen are better than all of us. I tried to deny it for the longest time. I thought we were funnier and wittier as a collective, but I was wrong. This band is better. I would also recommend the live Troc CD (CHAOS RULES - LIVE AT THE TROCADERO). I believe I have seen this CD floating around in stores. The Dead Milkmen got me into punk, I love 'em, but as the guy a few posts below me said, buy "Big Lizard In My Backyard" first. You won't regret it! Talk shit on Superdude's style again, and I'll....uh....be mad, or something.... "Big Lizard In My Backyard" should be the starting point- after all, new Dead Milkmen fans are gonna have to get it eventually, why not get it first? "If you want to check out the Dead Milkmen go with their best of album "Death Rides A Pale Cow." It does a great job of picking out their best tracks from each album." This album is pretty damn good...reminds me of Radon, Naked Raygun, Ghost of Lester Bangs and some early Lemonheads. Really fucking sweet punk rock! Superdude you are hilarious, but try a different style of joke. Your style is more monotonous than Ben Stein. This review was pretty good, but here's how I would make it better: they should release one of these every year. www.myspace.com/jkpbombs the reason that the dead milkimen are such a great band is that, while they may be poppy, the tongue in cheek humor is everpresent. I loved Beelzebubba back in High School. "Stuart" is just a classic. R.I.P. Dave Blood. Don't you wanna hang out with the bleach boys baby? I've got a bitchin' camero If you want to check out the Dead Milkmen go with their best of album "Death Rides A Pale Cow." It does a great job of picking out their best tracks from each album. i don't know any albums by Dead Milkmen, but i like a lot of their songs i've heard. maybe i'll check this out. I have "Beezlebubba" on vinyl, and just listened to some of it today. Some of their stuff is really great, and some of it is grating. "Punk Rock Girl" (and the video) is one of the best pop-punk songs, though. |
