Gorilla Biscuits are fucking awesome. I can listen to this CD on repeat for hours and not get bored with it. Thanks for reading my review.

i personally find this to be the greatest sxe album ever. i personally find this to be the greatest sxe album ever. All depends what era you were in GB definately up there. I have to say Age of Quarrel is hands down the greatest hardcore album EVER. Mags without John is not the Mags. Harley ripped but there a lot of good bassist No one can match John Joseph. Will, minor threat equals to hardcore, so every band after them is just hardcore-influenced by them No, I care about the underground ethic. Whether the band likes to (omygawsh!) smoke a little pot or drink is not really a concern. "PS- I had a Champion sweatshirt when I was like 4. This was about 91. So... Can I say I've been in teh hardCORE for 13 years?" wow will, again you're so hypocritical...now as long as it sounds good, you like it? you change your arguments all the time. Hahahaha. Sounds like you all got teh straight edj! Gorilla is wearing a champion hoodie because that's what a lot of hardcore kids wore back then." gorilla biscuits are real and sound great "Eh, this band is a little overrated. Youth of Today were definitely better. I have a beef with the overrated comment. I got into GB from listening to Youth of Today and Agnostic Front back when all those bands were still around. The first time I heard the entire start today album I knew they OWNED. The way they combined octave chord melodies, hardcore tom-based drum beats and postive lyrics was amazing. Every NYHC band had their selling point - ray's voice and jumps, Pete and Lou's voice and look, Roger's history and tattoos. I'm not trivializing those bands by any means, but when you were a kid those were the big differences you noticed. The GB's brought catchy songs and melody. Everyone from the Youth Crew kids ot the All/Bad Religion kids loved GB. I don't think it's possible for them to be overated. sorry...think that the place where you find sheer terror the second time is filled with wrecking crew, slapshot & DYS Yeah, Wrecking Crew Balance of terror..great record...and to be honest my 10 magical HC list would be: "How is this band not overrated? Whenever someone mentions hardcore, they're sure to get a response of "Gorilla Biscuits is the best band ever!" at some point... Fuck that noise. I've always seen GB as the token "old sounding" hardcore band for people who don't know what they're talking about to cream over." "It was like, when the dark ages ended." Hahahaha "3. What size is that Champion hoodie?" i can't get past this band's cheesy generic lyrics "3. What size is that Champion hoodie?" R.I.P. GB is one of the best hardcore bands from the late 80s. Their lyrics are awesome and no one should underestimate this band. 1988-1989 were pretty magical years for hardcore. It was like, when the dark ages ended. No comment was playing and Infest and Crossed out had either just started, or were about to start. Slap a ham put out its first record in 1989... "I think a person would be hardpressed to name 5 hardcore bands better than they were. The only bands I can think of that were in their league are/were SOIA, Youth and Snapcase." "of course they didnt invent hardcore, but who cares they were a great band....and very soon bridge9 will rerelease Wreckinf Crews BAlance of Terror...Yeeha" How many records does Revelation put out a year? Like 2? If Equal Vision can make a comeback so can Revelation. dear jesse score is for CIV doing car commericals. This review was pretty good, but here's how I would make it better: of course they didnt invent hardcore, but who cares they were a great band....and very soon bridge9 will rerelease Wreckinf Crews BAlance of Terror...Yeeha Jesse, when are you going to stop insulting bands that many people enjoy? No shit many people here have limited knowledge of hardcore or its origins but to say that Gorilla Biscuits and Kid Dynamite are mediocore is pretty off-base. They weren't original but for the time that each band was around they definitely got the hardcore ideal down pat Great fucking review man, "I could listen to this on repeat for hours". Fuck yeah. I love this band, they truly epitimize what punk rock should be. Sloppy, fast, aggressive, and energetic. "The only bands I can think of that were in their league are/were SOIA, Youth and Snapcase." hey sometimes they do review great stuff here..pleasant surprise talk about a fanboy review They get 10-- trust me back in 1988 no one ever tought GB would be the power house that they are and have the legacy they earned-- at least not in NYC, i mean NYHC. "Finish what you started! Be open hearted. Don't be retarded! " I think I might like this one better than "Start Today" just because Civ really sounds like he's screaming his voice out and is gonna be medically unable to speak for a year or something. Anyone who thinks the Gorilla Biscuits were overrated is a douchebag, plain and simple. You most likely just got into hardcore/punk recently. GB were some kids who put out arguably some of the best hardcore ever. They played from their hearts and never tried to be what was popular or conform. I think a person would be hardpressed to name 5 hardcore bands better than they were. The only bands I can think of that were in their league are/were SOIA, Youth and Snapcase. I can remember going to CIV shows years after GB broke up and kids would always go the craziest when "Sittin round at home" was played. This was the first 7" I bought when I was getting into punk rock in the early 90s and it still rocks as hard now as it did then. It reminds me why I ever got into this music in the first place. Crazy to think its over 15 years old now! Wehavecome... - Anyone who listens to Comeback Kid or Bane should know about GB. hey will, i don't think paint it black are a throwback to this sort of hardcore either. i was trying to think of a popular band that young kids listen to nowadays that have fans who would also appreciate GB -PiB came to mind. GB are alright, but it's not the best hardcore by a long shot. Some of their songs are really great ("Things We Say"), then some of it is just completely mediocre. I'd take DC hardcore over '88 hardcore anyday. score is for the review, not the album Also, I don't personally think Paint It Black are a throwback to this sort of hardcore... This second wave youth crew, positive force stuff. "will, i'm still getting a feel for writing album reviews and how i should structure them or what i should talk about and i'm obviously stressing the star thing.... will got served will, How is this band not overrated? Whenever someone mentions hardcore, they're sure to get a response of "Gorilla Biscuits is the best band ever!" at some point... Fuck that noise. I've always seen GB as the token "old sounding" hardcore band for people who don't know what they're talking about to cream over. so i was watching spike tv and they had a show on about video games and they interviewed fall out boy about their cover of gorilla biscuits. turns out, according to the member that looks the most gay, "gorilla biscuits is the only reason fall out boy exist" gorrlla biscuits overrated? Eh, this band is a little overrated. Youth of Today were definitely better. "Albums like this remind me what punk rock really is and why I love it so much. " "If you give an album a 9/10, that's practically a B , but if you give it a 10, kids will bitch." Holy hell that was a bad review. Some people think a 5 star album isn't that good? Who's fucking review is it? Sup. Being there was even better! Yo sucka! You got a big mouth! Bi-di-bah! start today is way better. this one is fun but a little amateurist. love the intro to high hopes though, breaking free and big mouth are classic too. and it's hillarious how civ's voice cracks in a bunch of the songs. good album, but this is one of the shittiest reviews i've ever read. gorilla biscuits is crucial. hold your fucking ground bitches.... This is a classic. Deserves 10 stars. Gorilla is wearing a champion hoodie because that's what a lot of hardcore kids wore back then. don't pay attention to the stars? Just read your words? But you said it was hard to put into words the importance or goodness of this band or record? When I read "Thanks for reading my review" I thought the review was over or something. start today was better. This album is fucking awesome. And I picked it up for a tasty £2.49. I love charity shops! that last paragraph was fucking homosexual god yes This band is good comment button* was there no comment before? i need to pay more attention. I like the new comment button. Now that is a kickass cover |
