The words fresh, new and exciting are often used to describe bands or records that really convey a sense of originality, creativity and unique thought going into it. More often than not these days, when record labels are trying to creatively market the band put them in the “original and fresh” category when really they are just rehashing the same stuff that has been done earlier on that year. Granted it becomes difficult when the musical spectrum has become so stretched that stepping out of what is considered “normal” means that you have no cohesive song structure.

Lots of obvious leftover TDF riffs were thrown onto this album and the fact that they just try soooo hard to sound as much like SDRE when they're not using old TDF riffs makes this the most unoriginal album I've listened to in a while. I couldn't disagree with the reviewer more. This album is very weak for musicians from great bands like TDF and Taken. I wasn't asking this album to be hardcore in the least, just slightly original and good. It was neither. Uh, just make another This Day Forward record. do you know of any other ray harkins? :P DUUUUUUH. Whiniest vocals I've heard in a long time. That and the cheesy, way out of place metallic riffs in the first song was too much for me. TDF, Sunny Day, etc....I'm not hearing the comparisons this band's been getting. |
