Howdy folks. It's your good buddy, the Big J, here to tell you about this fabulous new record that I've been listening to. Now I know what you're all asking: "Big J, how fabulous is it?" Pretty goddamn fabulous is my reply. Let's get started. Oh, and as a pre-cursor: Please forward all complaints to somone else.

If by supergroup you mean 'music groups comprising members of great proficiency who had already achieved fame or respect in other groups or as individual artists' (wikipedia), then, technically speaking, Indian is not a super group. Drummer Brian Lynn used to play drums for Behold! The Living Corpse (Original Sound Recordings - Chicago). But vocalist/Guitarist Dylan O'Toole and bassist Ronnie DeFries have never been in bands before, signed or unsigned. Cannibal Corpse has a line of a song that goes: The line between black metal and death metal is hazy...more and more black metal bands have the whole evil demon from beyond the chasm sort of vocals going on nowadays. if you really want to get genre specific, black metal is shit like dimmu borgir or emperor. shrill voices. not evil. not unless youre also scared of hamsters. Well, comparing a black metal vocalist to a metalcore vocalist will get you no where. If we're having that discussion, how about Cattle Decapitaion? my fingers are too cold to browse google, so ill ask the big j. Converge sucks. You Fail Me was my worst purchase of 2004. Even more than the latest Modest Mouse. hmmmm, I don't know, I think I prefer Converge over this. And yeah this guys voice is evil, but man it's hard to beat Converge's vocalist. Where is this cover you speak of? I see a half-ass painting of a monkey. you were close, my shit didn't turn to lead it turned to gold so i picked it up pawn'd it for $20 and bought this CD. Score is for the best album cover I've seen...ever. Damn this guy's voice is evil! Ha ha nice last line. Seeing as how I enjoy my shit in the normal weighted and non-metalic form, I'll pass. |
