Well, I think I finally thought of a term to call this emo-punk hybrid: Hooded Sweatshirt Rock. Over It is the next in a longer and longer line of bands to adapt to the punk beats and emo lyrics made popular by Gameface, and more recently, Saves The Day. Over It are a very talented group of Vi.

Well, I think I finally thought of a term to call this emo-punk hybrid: Hooded Sweatshirt Rock. Over It is the next in a longer and longer line of bands to adapt to the punk beats and emo lyrics made popular by Gameface, and more recently, Saves The Day. Over It are a very talented group of Virginians, and they just click with me through their 6 songs on this self-titled EP. Similarites abound between Over It and Saves The Day, both lyrically and musically. This band has some serious staying potential, so jump on the bandwagon now before you're left behind. While you're at it, check out Humble Beginnings, too. They're from New Jersey, and both they and Over It have this hooded sweatshirt rock thing down pat. By the way, I have that phrase copyrighted, so don't go claiming you made it up.

I wouldn't wear a hooded sweatshirt with the words over it printed upon the front. Check out Scott's review of The Fairlanes, it sucks ass.

yes...as a matter of fact I did buy the full length. My mistake. Once again, reading the review top to bottom helps.

My point still remains that these guys have potential, but haven't lived up to it yet.

i prefer the full length but this is great too, these guys have great potential.

You must've bought the full length album, called "The Ready Series." I didn't care for that one too much, either, but this EP is really good.

those 2 mp3s are songs from the Playing 4 Square comp, and are quite good, so good that when i saw this used i jumped on the opportunity to buy it.
Unfortunately, neither of those songs is on the actual album, and what was on there wasn't all that great. A disappointing album.
