I’m not quite sure if the name Gyroscope means anything to anyone outside of Australia at the moment. Well, apart from those of you who automatically think of that great indie band on Barsuk who had a song on their classic (and best) album bearing this title. Or perhaps the name conjures up thoughts of a song by a Nordic band with slightly larger metal leanings. Or perhaps the mechanics and engineers among us will start thinking of something else altogether. You may now be thinking, how is this relevant to anything in particular? The answer is that it isn’t, I just thought I’d address a few issues that arose last time I reviewed material from this Perth, Western Australian rock/punk crossover band known as Gyroscope, or Gyro as their fans affectionately call them.

and the entire album Emergency and I is very awesome. my second favorite ever. That song "Gyroscope" by the Dismemberment Plan is awesome I like Change better then Emergency & I. Does that mean I'm gay? Man, I thought Mark Hoppus did a way better job of producing Commit This To Memory than the dude who did I Am The Movie. Y'know, it actually sounded like MCS had finished writing the songs this time round. These guys fucking suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. The Dismemberment Plan were never on Barsuk, Travis Morrison is. I decided not to listen to this because it said that if i liked this, i liked Poison The Well. One of my favorites from last year. A very strong release. Hoppus would have made this better. Preeeetty Bad, Dismemberment Plan were on DeSoto, not Barsuk. I agree, i think this album is much more well rounded than their old one. Many of the tracks on "sound shattering sound" sounded like 'fill ins' between the good tracks. This album has a much better sound to it. "Dream vs Scream", "raindsrops" and "22 of 3" are great songs |
