Few things get me both excited and fulfilled like seeing a young band develop. I basically accused Banner Pilot of Lawrence Arms plagiarism regarding their 8-song demo -- I did like it, though. However, the band's freshly recorded EP, Pass the Poison, represents a more complete picture of Midwestern punk, drawing as much from TLA as it does Dillinger Four and early Jawbreaker, and what results are a bunch of good and a few great rough-edged pop-punk songs.

i loved this album when it came out and i still love it. This cd fucking rules. Really good. I like D4... I like Tha Larry Arms. Therefore, I like Banner Pilot. Similar style to both, just less produced, in fact, that's even some of the charm. pretty good shit. So I'm guessin Arsenic is their own label? and the album is called Pass the Poison? and one of the guys in the band has a zine called Pick your Poison? They're a great band but wow talk about a fetish. don't own it but the stuff I streamed is butter, I'd think people would be al over this, like breasts. Or maybe you did and I'm an idiot. To be fair, you didn't say it was an EP in the review anywhere...maybe you should update the titled with that info. this is awesome, too short though. Very Promising. Nice album cover! - (it's the one thing that truly matters) Goodness, I enjoy this a bunch. Thanks for a new band to love. I mean train. Brian and I are co-conductors of this hype wagon! | Features
