The Rise, the Fall, and Everything in Between is a full-length made for the digital age. If you think the cover art is hideous looking (and woah, it certainly is!), purchase the music files and delete the cover art image. If you preferred the Distance of old (i.e. when they were undoubtedly an awesome hardcore band), delete or ignore the two or three tracks that inexplicably deviate into quasi-Good Charlotte territory. Everything is a boon for flexibility and customization. It's an album that is ripe for love it / hate it analysis, in turn, it's something that I just can't seem to entirely wrap my head around. The last album that had me this perplexed and frustrated was from Hazen St.... and we all know how well that project went.

If you think the cover art is hideous looking (and woah, it certainly is!) Will, don't drag hazen st into this. "Theyre trying to get a bigger crowed and unfortanatly they do have to change the sound a bit to do that. Its working for them, is it not?" That girl looks like "they all just fucked me, came inside me and now they are with some other girl....I feel so used!" hahahahahahahahahaha!!!! Its true, there are quite a few popish songs on the record, and its definitely noticably different compared to the old "more hardcore" sound, but its good. Theyre trying to get a bigger crowed and unfortanatly they do have to change the sound a bit to do that. Its working for them, is it not? And theyre really great guys, so i support their new album 100% unless he produced that turd bomb of an album in addition to the good CIV album, that's where the comparison was pointing... The Album Cover does suck but the chick is hawt. i dont generally like to go off topic, but its notlike this record warrants any actual discussion. I'm pretty sure Walter Schriefels didn't have anything to do with 13 Day Getaway unless he produced that turd bomb of an album in addition to the good CIV album, that's where the comparison was pointing... ...another solid album of boring bridge 9 hardcore about being stabbed in the back and these guys pulled a CIV while the cover is the worst thing I have ever seen I did give this record a good honest listen and it seriously is awesome. It took me a while but I love it now. I recommend everyone at least download it and delete tracks 2,3,5 and 6 and you have an amazing hardcore ep. "Lamest cover art since the whole "fashion babes killing each other" era of screamo. This shit has no business in the underground." Here I was thinking we were going to read about another solid album of boring bridge 9 hardcore about being stabbed in the back and these guys pulled a CIV... so fucking bad. what were they thinking? and the funny thing is everyone on the bridge 9 messageboard hypes/defends this album like crazy. its like bizarro hardcore world over there. lets stop worrying about the art and concentrate on how bad the music sucks i don't think enough can be said about the cover art. what the fuck. hey fucks, ease up. Today's are probably the worst reviews in a while. Not a single album or show that's good, or, really, even "punk". Well...except Good Riddance. these guys used to be a sick hardcore band. remember that split with With Honor? t'was fly. What band had that cover that looked liked Mariah Carey? I think it was a Victory band (it has to be). The Distance is totally screamo. That cover art is the worst thing Ive ever seen. Lamest cover art since the whole "fashion babes killing each other" era of screamo. This shit has no business in the underground. You have got to be kidding me? Who in the right mind gave this record the green light? Ok, so i'm listening to this right now, and if "phase two" is " downright furious and compelling" i don't really know if i want to keep listening. ah I'm an idiot. So, what's the deal? Charlie Sheen i am sick to death of album covers with sluttly looking girls on them. recover did it. count the stars did it. there's been a fucking million of them. it's tired. This album sounds like a trainwreck. I agree with you 95% of the time when it comes to liking records Jordan, but in good conscience, I simply cannot allow myself to take the time to even listen to one solitary mp3 of a band who would allow that sort of cover art. This review is far too kind, the album is a joke This album just boggles my mind. |
