Drop Dead, Gorgeous do nothing new at all. The verses are filled with cookie-cutter screaming that causes migraines, the singing around the choruses is barely passable, and then they slide in random piano interludes. Last time I checked, throwing in some keys throughout a song doesn't count as originality.

Few bands can make this style work and these guys aren't one of those bands. Drop Dead, Gorgeous aren't simply a carbon copy of everything else right now -- they're worse than the bands they emulate. Someone should start regulating how many breakdowns can be used on a song, especially when every one is as bad as they are on this album. And to top it all off, they have song titles like "Dressed for Friend Requests," "Knife vs. Face Round 1" and "Fashion Your Seatbelts."

It's a sad and dark day when a band can get by and establish themselves based around their image and fashion sense, but nowadays, it's not completly surprising. Nothing on In Vogue warrants a listen. No one should have to endure this band and hopefully you won't have the misfortune of suffering such aural destruction.

The only people I've ever heard really get angry about disses aimed at this band are fifteen year old girls with black and blonde cat hair.

apparently you don't know what hardcore is dude.
go listen to trash talk or final fight.
thats real hardcore, all this DDG and The Devil Wears Prada bullshit isn't it. just because a band plays a breakdown every five seconds doesnt make it hardcore.

Posted by crazytoledo on 2007-03-22 11:20:24

To the dude below me, there's a band called the Devil Wears Prada. They released a full length last summer eerily similar to this. However, it doesn't suck and is actually worth your time.

And recent Rise Records signee, Before Their Eyes are releasing their full length in May. These dudes are amazing and are from my area. I can't wait to see them live in June.

And I'm also seeing these guys live at the show. Ew, but hey, they might be fun live. Hopefully.

Wow you don't seem to have any Idea of Hardcore. You Review is naive and simple bullshit. How come you are allowed to write Reviews anyway.

    In Vogue is awesome.

Dude, I do listen to this kind of music.

You sir, have no right to bash them. Just because you can't handle their music doesn't mean you need to stereotype them because of whatever they wear...go listen to justin timberlake

...Kind of a weak album title from Drop Dead this time out. Oh well, as long as the blastbeats are there, so am I.

I think two of those song titles are at least a little bit clever.

Posted by crazytoledo on 2006-10-23 12:18:59

Then we can still discredit their musical ability. Or should I say lack of.

Posted by Anonymous on Monday, October 23, 2006 at 10:46 AM (EDT)

It's only just a tad immature to discredit a band because of their fashion sense, and question their sexuality as a putdown. How old are you guys now?

Posted by treos on 2006-10-23 00:07:41

aight aight, my bad, we should have seen this coming "less than two months ago" after the review of misery signals

    My Score:

Because my friends love them I've seen them live twice within the past two months and while I don't like them that much they can put on a hell of a live show.

    these faggots need death ASAP

Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at 2:47 PM (EDT)

everyone in denver over the age of 16 hates these guys. haha. this is the band they will be embarrased about when they are 25 and in a new band (god help us).

Posted by crazytoledo on 2006-10-22 14:26:43

I can list a lot of 'screamo' bands that are far better. Hell, I can name some that sound like DDG that are better. (I can think of one on the same label from the top of my head)

Also, how could you possibly say "my review of 'Mirrors' in 2005." That review was posted less than two months ago dude.

Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at 11:04 AM (EDT)

Misery Signals - Mirrors is a 2006 release dumbass. Also, you like the receiving end of sirens so no-one is likely to take you seriously. Quit typing already.

    My Score:

I dont't know why punknews posts reviews written by people who dont like the band in the first place, it doesn't do anybody any good. For people who don'y like metalcore they now aren't going to go and buy it, just like they wouldn't have in the first place, and people who do like it will be deterred by this terrible biased review.
"they're worse than the bands they emulate" - who are these bands that they emulate??
"Few bands can make this style work and these guys aren't one of those bands." - What style is it that these guys emulate?
you missed all the key points in this review u dumbass crazytoledo. Of course, we whould have seen this coming back in 2005 when craztoledo gave Misery Signals - Mirrors a 5 because they have bad vocals

As for the album, sure it isn't original by any means but sometimes people just wanna listen to some badass screamo. Their riffs are better than many bands doing better in their genre right now and the screaming is, although somewhat of an acqired taste, refreshingly different.

Score is for the review bitches

Holy Fucking Hell! crazytoledo didn't make an ass of himself! He didn't write how "great" this band is! He's turned a corner. BTW, I saw crazytoledo's myspace page...and if I was gay...whoo boy.

Posted by Anonymous on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 5:04 PM (EDT)

    Great review Toledo.

Posted by Anonymous on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 4:52 PM (EDT)

this shit has got to be on the way out. nu-fashioncore is such garbage. you can argue that bands like the NY Dolls, Johnny Thunders, Ramones, etc were fashion forward bands...but you would'nt wanna cross them...aka they were a threat. borrowing daddy's credit card, ironing you hair, and getting the most plays on Myspace is fucking disgusting...plus the "music" is horrible. TWO THUMBS DOWN!

Posted by Anonymous on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 4:14 PM (EDT)

what sucks is that these guys are the worst band i've seen all year (including local bands), yet they're gonna be huge. They went from playing my club to playing 1000 person venues with some band called bullet from my valentine. they also supposedly got picked up by geffen for like 1.8 million dollars.

i saw this band play with The Human Abstract and Look What I Did a few months back. They got on stage all were wearing women's pants, but a couple of them were also wearing not only womens pants but capris...enough said.

I think I saw this in an AMP review, but they said "This band took 2 hours to make sure their hair looks good and 2 minutes to write each song."

    hahahahahahahahahahaha.

this band has to be a joke

Posted by crazytoledo on 2006-10-20 10:25:39

My first paragraph rant on this band was cut, so that's why this review is short.

But these guys suck, big time.

Posted by rmgebhardt on 2006-10-20 10:21:36

They're just as terrible live. Letting shit like this get released is ridiculous.

Posted by Anonymous on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 9:33 AM (EDT)

I heard from someone who went to high school with these guys that one of their dads got them their record deal.

    HAH!

Posted by Anonymous on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 1:39 AM (EDT)

Edit your reviews, they're a mess.

Posted by Cheesetits on 2006-10-20 00:37:45

There are definitely some things that give you a hint of what you are in for by the name of the band or the name of the album. This has both. Gross.

Posted by BrendanKelly on 2006-10-20 00:14:07

    shouldn't you love this band?
