In a day and age where style has taken priority over substance, honest albums from honest bands tend to be few and far between. Luckily, there's still a few out there, and the Street Dogs continue to give hope that punk and rock can blend harmoniously and shine through the shitstorm of modern rock and faceless punk.

Just such an awesome album. Straight up, no bullshit punk, which is refreshing in these times of boys wearing makeup and caring more about their looks then the music their playing. I love this album. It's so addicting and catchy. Hey steve jones the bones, there is fucking nothing wrong with being happy about where u r from. Street Dogs are a great band, this is a great album and not all of their songs are about Boston. I also cant believe u had the guts to put ur email at the end of ur comment Whoa! This as rockin' as "Savin Hill"! I wasn't so excited about "Back To The World"- it was pretty good but "Savin Hill" is SO good that it definitely paled. This seems like a winner! This is the best punk release of the last five years. This album is pretty seriously awesome. It's very loud and boisterous, which makes it fun, but it's also really well written. It's one of those albums which is fun without being stupid and goofy, which is a rare combo. An absolutely spectacular album! They have equaled the Dropkick Murphys now. Of course not in terms of popularity but in terms of quality. First album = 10 If the singer didn't live in LA, maybe they could. Can these guys claim Boston when they have two guys from Texas in the band? I loved old DKM, but for some reason I could never get into these guys' first two albums. I'm listening to this album online right now, however, and I think I'm gonna have to pick it up. Definitely their best work to date. This album is pretty good, I agree with the observation of it being "Do or Die 2". That Power in a Union cover is seriously one of the worst things Ive ever heard. Terrible. "its so weird, erik seems to fit in perfect with what the ratchets are doing, and same can be said of steve with the rebels" Three cheers for straight up fucking punk rock. Good review. Great album. Street Dogs also put on a hell of a live show. I ordered this yesterday solely cause the review mentioned they cover fatty. GC5 DID "UNION" BETTER Waterpoo must be a joke account... Waterpoo: souls old stuff is better asswipe i saw this band last week with the bouncing souls. they were too loud. they seemed all non-organized and garbage-like. i don' tknow why people like them. the album stream is pretty awesome. Who's going to see them in LA w/ the Souls on 11/3? Good review. I'll have to check this one out. "Thinking about picking this up, but I have kind of grown away from this kind of punk...could be refreshing, though. Also, I really want to pick up the new Ratchets LP....see what ol' Erik has been up to since 6 Buck Road." they've done it again This band has been a giant yawn fest from its inception. Thinking about picking this up, but I have kind of grown away from this kind of punk...could be refreshing, though. Also, I really want to pick up the new Ratchets LP....see what ol' Erik has been up to since 6 Buck Road. clarification: "There is Power in a Union" was written by folk/protest hero Joe Hill, not Billy Bragg. this album, with the "we're from boston, and we are from the street, da na na, na na na" getting this today, sweet review as well-oldpunker- Uno del consistantly gran grupos en directo fuera allí en este momento. I've never heard these guys before. I'm listening to the previews on iTunes and they sound A LOT like the Bouncing Souls. Not a bad thing. I might pick this release up. "Sell Your Lies" is amazing...actually, all the songs are. duh. Don't have anything bad to say about the Street Dogs. Me likey. well Mike, you'll be happy to know that they opened with that song on Friday night and it was fucking glorious. I'm seeing these guys on Wednesday and I can't wait to hear "Not Without A Purpose" live. This is definitely the best shit they've ever done. I picked this up after the show on thursday, and I agree that it's the best work they've ever done. I'm actually listening to it right now, right in the middle of "Final Transmission." It's a late entry but it'll be in the top ten albums of the year. this album, with the "we're from boston, and we are from the street, da na na, na na na" This album blows away everything they've done before. So freaking good. This is what you call a review. Street Dogs are so damn good. Show in 4 days. I'm pumped. This album is awesome. Right up there with the new Briggs on my spinlist. One of the consistantly great live bands out there right now. My favorite DKM stuff was with Mike McColgan anyway, so it made perfect sense that the Street Dogs would be just as good, if not better and to me, I'm right. I see them whenever I can, can't wait for the new album |
