Well, here at punknews.org, we've got two reviews of "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket," and a review for "Dude Ranch." What needs to be added? Not only "Cheshire Cat" and "Buddha," but the infamous "Enema of the State," which most "real" punks refer to as complete trash. I disagree. Yes, it is the worst blink-182 album to date, but that doesn't mean it isn't pretty good. The CD starts of great with "Dumpweed." I don't see how anyone can call this not punk. It's punk. Same goes for "Don't Leave Me," and "The Party Song" (if this song isn't punk, then I don't know what is). There are also lots of fantastic songs which are better categorized as pop-punk: "Aliens Exist," "Going Away to College," "Dysentery Gary," "Mutt," and "Wendy Clear." And what about those three songs most punks probably hate the most? Well, I find "What's My Age Again?", "All the Small Things," and "Adam's Song" to be the worst songs on the CD (they just happen to be the three radio singles, too), and the least punk of them all. "What's My Age Again?" should have been slightly faster, "All the Small Things" gets old quickly, and "Adam's Song" is boring (but the closest the band gets to emo as possible on this CD). And of course, the usual immature lyrics are there, as well, with lyrics like "you're mom's a whore," and "those things on their chests," refering to the female anatomy. So, even though "Enema of the State" is the worst of Blink-182's career, it's still a great album. But pick up "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket," "Cheshire Cat," or something else of theirs before this. punkdude89 It's good and it intoduced me to much better music, but not much better drummers. Travis kicks ass. dude.....how can you possibly say this is blink's worst album...how dare you?...this album makes the change into blink's image and style, they turned into a more neopunked band....an their music was great alright. i'm not gonna be negative like the rest of the blink-haters, cause life's too short to waste it bitching about a band that you don't like. i used to listen to this and enjoyed it fair enough, but guys, simply put, theres no honesty or desire to make good music in this. if there was, they wouldn't care how they were taken. it seems like they have to strive for the punk label so fucking hard. kids, if you want obnoxious pop-punk humor, listen to NOFX or 88 Fingers Louie. those bands also have songs about important things. and everything you like about blink-182 minus the bullshit. shit piss fuck cunt cock sucker mother fucker tits fart terd and twatshit piss fuck cunt cock sucker mother fucker tits fart terd and twatshit piss fuck cunt cock sucker mother fucker tits fart terd and twatshit piss fuck cunt cock sucker mother fucker tits fart terd and twshit piss fuck cunt cock sucker mother fucker tits fart terd and twat shit piss fuck cunt cock sucker mother fucker tits fart terd and twatt fuck you asshole, we fucking hate you and ur gonna burn in hell and die a horrible fiery death and we think ur a stupid piece of shit. Blink 182 Haters go fuck yourself up the ass you shit heads Ok faggots you can stop bitching about how bad blink 182 sucks in the end you just wasted a crap load of time writing it, so fuck off blink 182 is awesome Blink fuckin rocks all the people who say it isnt punk is just fuckin mad because they arent near as punk as blink! This is bye far the worst blink cd they ever did. The only song that is alright is the last song due to travis's tight drumming. This cd sucks thats all i got to say about that. This alblum.. isn't all that bad. I would only get into it though if your into the whole pop/punk genre... ... like... really into the whole pop/punk thing. Mostly everyone already knows that too. Its just Blink. You know all of the songs are about girls and stupid things which have little meaning. But eh, it might float your boat. blink seems to concentrate things i don't like, but they have really good songs , I bought this ablum when it came out because i was trying a be on of those "skater-punk hurley-wearing"kids who everyone hates. these days i've gone back to my roots of pearl jam, bush, local H, etc. and as i was cleaning my room up, i found this cd and put it on...and i enjoyed it. I hated it when I bought it, but maybe through the shear goofy-ness of it, i enjoyed it. "Going away to college" is a great song in my opinion. this ablum grew on me more than i expected. Still only decent, but worth giving a listen to. i think that blink is good, but i think this album really sux. They did better on the one after it, take off your pants and jacket, but besides that, i think they were better before this album. later i love blink, but this album is my least fav. the songs need to be a little faster, but for the most part they are good. just not up to the standard. i didnt think this cd was bad at all, still don't. i got it when it came out, b4 it earned a PA sticker, b4 blink got huge. yea they had a hit w/ dammit, but they were still relatively not mainstream. this album was what got them heavy mtv/radio rotation. fuck it. its good. party song, going away to college, don't leave me, dumpweed, adams song, and whats my age again all kick ass i think. wendy clear is filler and mutt, anthem, atst, aliens exist just kinda suck ass. this album's songs all either kick ass or suck ass.but it marks the end of my senior year in high school, was totally in sync w/ who i was at that poiint (going away to college) and i love it. its better than take off your pants. the lows are lower but the highs are way higher. I think this cd is pretty good. its no dude ranch or buddha, buts its not bad. When u put it up to Take Off... its really good. Take Off... is definitely the punk album ever. Right now blink is going into a pop-type slump, but their music is still amazing. ha yeah, now lick my ass |
