WOW!!! Is the first word that comes to mind, I've never really been into Bigwig..everyone I know praises the band, but I always seem to skip over them when buying CDs. All I had to hear was the song "Sink or Swim" from the warped tour comp, from that song...and judging from coutless other comps I own that the band has contributed to, I had to buy something from them. It's some of what I expected, really fast, very intricate guitars, and thundering drums and bass lines. It incorporates a lot of different elements of music here...punk, metal, hardcore and very little pop, just enough to give it that little twist the music needs. The first track "Waste" is great. A kick ass song..that leaves your outlook for the rest of the album looking up. "Sink or Swim" is the second track and, even though it's still a good song (the metal riffage was extremely well done) It's getting old, and its the one song I think the album could have done without..being the fact it was already on the warped tour comp. Other great songs include "Mr. Asshole", "Home in New Jersey", ahhh fuck it, all the songs are good. It's a must for Bigwig fans..or for people who have been living under a rock (like me) and haven't really discovered the band. One of the few bands I've heard who can take the basic sound of fast punk and add a few different musical aspects and make it work...and it fuckin' works people. Check this out...after ignoring this band for five years they finally got my damn attention, and I haven't strayed away since. It's damn good music. My god can beat up your god too! Bigwig knows how to fucking rock. All of the band's members can play their instruments pretty damn well, actually perfectly. All the Bigwig albums kick some ass, this one just kicks a little more. Yeah, Bigwig is the best band ever. Seriously. Anyone who doesn't have all three Bigwig cd's needs to go fucking buy them. As for the new cd, it is so much better than the other two...there's no other way to put it. What's really crazy is that Stay Asleep and Unmerry Melodies are two FUCKING AWESOME cd's and the fact that An Invitation to Tragedy STILL blows them away despite that is just unbelievable. This cd is a MUST HAVE for any fans of any punk/metal/what the fuck ever style of music you listen to. I have "anti-punk" friends that listen to strictly metal that own and love this cd. This cd is so fucking wicked its fucking radical! like a fucking rollercoaster! fuck! fuck! this cd is one of the best in my expansive collection wow! buy this disc!! after hearing it i got hold of unmerry melodies and stay asleep they both rule! bigwig ownz! You made your damn point, Like 3 times now..I said nothing about your opinion all I ask is that you stray away from bashing a review because another one of the same seems better...which i'll say it again Sickboi's review was better. hey coldjuly, what the fuck do you want? i'm sorry for having an opinion that doesnt come up with yours and expressing this opionion, i still think, the other review is better, i havent offended you, just expressed my opinion in a civilized way, and if that's enough for you to call me an "asshole boy", then i hope you die soon you little piece of shit! Well, I think this cd is pretty fucking amazing except for two tracks i can't fucking stand: 4 and 8, i don't know, the lyrics and music on those two are a bit fucking weak compared to the rest of the album. First thing, this cd is absofuckinglutely amazing. The lyrics are great but what really got me was the music. I think it's their best yet. I've been listening to Bigwig for awhile now and this cd was no disappointment. It's all new Bigwig and it never gets boring! i love bigwig ive liked them for a while and there new cd is fuckin awesome My mom can beat up your mom...My dad can beat up your dad...ahh brings back memories. C'mon don't tell me you did'nt do that when you guys were in the 1st grade, we used to say that then end up beating the hell out of each other. This cd is not at all as good as the last too. it's to metally, some songs seem to trail off a bit. Sore loser is the best song. If you are a fan of big wig it is still decent. i've said it before and i'll say it again; bigwig own you One more thing..I screwed up one of the song titles...Its "alone in ne jersey" not "home in new jersey" :) Thanks man, yeah thats kinda lame..but who knows my review maybe gone by the end of the day. Good review, but what the hell? My review of this was only listed for a few hours....come one guys... |
