Off with Their Heads have been incredibly prolific over the past two years. They’ve released splits with the Dukes of Hillsborough, Practice, Blotto, J Church, the Measure [SA] and Tiltwheel, as well as two EPs, a single, and a collections album. More importantly though, they’ve been consistently good. Not one of these releases has been a disappointment.

off with their heads side is not that great. I was not very impressed by them which is kinda odd. off with their heads is not a bad band, but they have waaaay better shit out then this. the dear landlord side.... FUCKIN AMAZING!!!! SO FUCKIN GOOD! fast, melodic, sing a long pop punk. these tunes will be stuck in your head for months. but i would not expect anything less from them. there side on a scale from 1 to 10 is a god damn 11! for fans of banner pilot, d4, smoke or fire, etc. This got me in to Dear Landlord, The OWTH tracks are different, but rule. The first OWTH's track is sucha great surprise. Great record i would like to add, that -yes, a few more spins did remedy my issue with "crashing." i think that the song falls short of perfection (i think the words in the chorus could've been sung a little less robotically, but in any case, the song definitely rules. Both bands are great. Bruce Campbell makes records? "Die Slow" is certainly weird; the verses are garagey with a layer of fuzz on the vocals, and the chorus is trademark, but kind of unimaginative OWTH. it sounds like they were listening to Rancid 2000 when they wrote it. i love it! this is definitely OWTH's darkest record yet. this is a great 7." Also, it's been a great year for Warren Zeavon, being covered by Off with their Heads AND Bruce Campbell, if only he were alive to see it. "'Splendid Isolation' is a Warren Zevon cover." good review, thanks. i'll check this out. "Splendid Isolation" is a Warren Zevon cover. guess i'll be picking this up the, OWTH rules |
