Young LiversThe New Drop Era (2007)No Idea Records Reviewer Rating: User Rating: Contributed by: Brian (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on November 30th 2007
While it seems like nearly every band on No Idea Records is in some way influenced by Hot Water Music, there always seems to be an X factor creating a little bit of diversity. Every post-HWM band on No Idea has it, for the most part: for Bridge and Tunnel, it's a bit of noodly, mellow instrumentation á la American Football; for Small Brown Bike, it was a number of calmer, more reflective moments and wispy guitar tones; and for Young Livers, it's the guitar-driven energy of Drive Like Jehu.

Okay, so I have some 12000 songs on my mp3 player, and they're on shuffle. This band comes on, I look up, they're the "band of the moment". Weird. sounds pretty good. i was waiting for the reveiw of thiis. they have some great potential. i checked out fiya after hearing these guys and they are great too. Love this album, loved their set at The Fest and I'm totally stoked to see more from these dudes. love this record to death Has anybody heard the new Glass And Ashes stuff? oh wow it absolutley slays. As for Young Livers, this record kicks serious ass too. chincy? one of my favorite releases of this year as well as one of my new favorite bands. kinda wished you'd have mentioned something about 'Fair, Well' since i consider that to be the stand out track on the album but that's just splittin' hairs. Wow... This is pretty much right up my alley. This is definitely the next album I'm buying. | Features
