The Blue Meanies were a very special band. Each time you heard a Blue Meanies album, you really had no idea what you were in for. Pave the World was a strong debut and Kiss Your Ass Goodbye was even stronger. The Blue Meanies would hit their peak though with 1997's Full Throttle, which was re-released in 2005. Everyone expected them to take their crazy sound further, but no one expected them to take it as far as they did on Full Throttle, an album so ridiculous, intense and off the wall as it is intelligent and fun.

Fuckin love this band. Second best band from Chicago ever. probaby my favorite album of all time. "This band could whip a wild camel's ass with a belt!" - Wesley Willis F.O.R.D. Got to finally see them on what I think was their last tour at Little Brother's in Columbus with Flogging Molly in 2001 with about 20 other people. Fantastic show, literally everyone person there danced through every song of both bands' sets. Good days. Such a killer record. I'd recommend buying the live album on Asian Man first, then picking this up very shortly thereafter. Also 'Happy Together' and 'Ace of Spades' are better bonus tracks than 'Dummy Room' and 'Stone Cold Crazy' If you can find the original, get that one. If you can only find the remastered one, buy that one because it is one of the finest albums every recorded. good record, but i got the live record first (probably one of my top played albums in HS) and it has almost every track from full throttle and they have so much more energy live, so when i heard this album i was a little disappointed. This band (and album) bring about soooooooo many great memories. |

I saw them four or five times, and when they came through with Flogging Molly, I ended up buying the band a round of shots. I really don't remember Flogging Molly playing at all.
I miss them something awful.
