Take it from the dudes in Balboa and Towers, who know how to build an atmosphere: If you want to write a near-perfect epic screamo song, look to the opener on Elder's self-titled 10" EP, "Town of Clay." Everything you want in soft-hard/quiet-loud dynamics, budding guitars, huge, pounding drums and a desperate, pleading screamer atop it all is here.

Craig Woods actually sings the lead vocals for Elder and Armando does the backups, but hey, thanks for the good review! every band that craig woods is/has been in rules. You're right about the voice, it really does grow on you. I actually really like this cover art I actually really like this cover art I've been trying to start an emocore band forever, true story. The name made me think doom metal, but that is the most emo cover art I've ever seen. could tell this was either emo/screamo from the artwork and sort of from the name glad I was right, Towers are pretty cool. |
