I consider myself to be a huge fan of Sick of it All, so when I was given the opportunity to buy a CD for Valentine's Day by my significant other, I opted for this one. (Hey, it says "blood" in the title, and blood flows throught the heart, right? It's a perfect Valentine's Day gift!).

I was immediately blown away (no that's not a reference to their latest album "Yours Truly.") by their thick metal sound here. This is Sick of it All at their most gritty. They weren't the best musicians back then, their intensity was much more combustible, something that isn't so apparent nowadays.

Without going through a laundry list of songs, let me just say that the classic Alleyway Crew and NYHC sound shines through on each track. My favorites include Bullshit Justice and Injustice System.

Pick it up if you can find it, odds are you won't be disappointed. How could you go wrong with an album that has a song entitled, "Clobberin' Time/Pay the Price"?

"no tears, from my eyes. blood, sweat, 'til i die." I'm sorry, that's almost as bad as "sex an violence(repeat 100 times)" in the macho dept. That being said, this album kicks ass.

I'll add to the rewiew, every song on this album is a SOIA classic, my personal favourite would have to be friend like you i put it in my top ten song list. THe recording quality on this album bites though. i can definately tell when i put it in my cd player and have it on shuffle it goes from yours truly to blood seat no tears and the frequency drops a few notches. not to bother though just an excuse to crank it louder and louder.
    15/10 great fucking album

    I liked Yours Truly...

    My Score:

to the guy below who says SOIA sing about 'serious' things not ex-girlfriends(this somehow bashing emo), hardcore is full of the same amount of bad lyrical cliches. Maybe hardcore bands dont have as many ex girlfriends to sing about but friends who stabbed them in the back, or situations that demanded strength, integrity, etc. yes they do. Every genre has its tired conventions.

    Besides, 'sanctuary' was pretty lovey
    dovey....that was a joke.

anyway, I have a giant SOIA dragon tattoo on my right chest so it would be silly of me to bash them. still think 'call to arms' was there best. hated 'yours truly'.

The fact that you said they're horrible live, gets me to the point; Have you ever even seen them live? Cause I know I've been seeing them since Just Look Around, and their one of the best bands I've ever have seen.

Great album, but please people if you want to review something, don't just put the whole album into 4 lines.
Macho? SOIA are the good guys, not macho idiots like Skarhead and lame ass DMS crew.

I don't think there was even a thing called "emo" when this was released. Sick of it All are great. Macho bullshit? The guys in the band were scrawny fucks when this was made. Not to mention they are some of the nicest, funniest guys in punk/hardcore. Sorry, but not every band has to sing love songs. Not every band has a mass amount of ex-girlfriends they can write songs about. If SOIA was big macho tough guys, I don't think they'd support the Bouncing Souls, H2o, or Ignite, etc.

    My Score:

What an amazing tough guy title! These guys are brilliant! Nuts to all you emo pussies and you're tears. God forbid you show emotion, homos! Now to be more serious, nuts to Sick of it All and their macho bullshit.

The vocals aren't perfect, but regardless, this may be the best SOIA record. And what exactly is bro-core?

    My Score:

Great album, awful review, and Sick of it All are not Bro-core. Seems like there's a new label to slap on bands every day.
