I listen to a lot of bands that get the old "they sound like Fugazi" comparison slapped on them. This is usually a compliment to the band, as Fugazi is without a doubt one of the most respected and revered bands in punk rock. Heck, I've used the phrase "imagine if Fugazi was from [insert band's hometown here]" numerous times to help describe up-and-coming bands to friends. The ironic part of all of this is, I don't even like Fugazi. I don't own a single one of their CDs nor have I ever possessed one MP3 of theirs for more than a few minutes. I have heard the band's entire catalog from start to finish, and nothing really impressed me. This makes me feel kind of dirty; I feel like I should amost have to like the band, considering everyone they've influenced [including the majority of my favorite bands]. What does this have to do with Haymarket Riot, you ask? Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
ok i'll get right on that here's my opinion...shut the fuck up.- fathead jimi steals his jokes from buddyhead... this is a comment board. the point is to express your opinions. why would someone keep comments to themselves? fugazi represents everything that is good about independent music. i can't believe you people actually have negative comments to say about them. i don't care if you don't like their music, keep it to yourself.you betta recognize, foo.- fathead Personally I love Fugazi. I think it's cool though when people who don't neccasarily like them can at least admit what they have done. I'm pretty sick of all the stupid fucking kids saying how the Dead Kennedys or the Clash suck. Even if you don't like them appreciate them for furthering the punk community. Thank you for having a clue :) this reviewer is right on. like him, i could never really get into Fugazi's music, but i always knew they were a great influential band. this group proves that, yet i really dig this group's music. god damnit, there are way too many CDs i want to buy. anyone wanna donate to the CDs for Brad Fund? p.s not liking FUGAZI is some kind of sin somewhere. Oh wait, not somewhere, everywhere. Don't you know genius when it grabs you by the throat and screams clever political rhetoric down your throat? haymarket riot rocks my ass...and they're playing Michigan Fest...rock Do you think someone could please post my reviews? |
