Lydia’s certainly not for everyone, but if you can appreciate the emotionally heady type of occasionally grandiose indie pop Copeland has made waves for, …Illuminate is an enjoyable debut.

Due to the hype I've given them multiple listens, but I always end up bored. But then, I've never enjoyed Copeland, so I guess your review is spot on. This is fucking weird timing, man. Really weird. Just yesterday my girlfriend was telling me she's going to see these guys with her brother who's a huge fan (and likes generally decent music and has at least somewhat relatable tastes to mine), and I remarked how they seem to me like a band for absolutepunk kids with swoopy haircuts and that I had never seen word one about them on this site. And now, the very next day, a review shows up. I've gotten out of listening to a lot of this genre lately, but i really dig this disc. | Features
