Strike Anywhere is back, and better than ever. They have a solid back catalogue of impressive, politically supercharged melodic hardcore. Now they've released a new four-song EP on Bridge 9 Records. The EP features two tracks from the album that it takes its name from, Iron Front, and two new songs not to be featured on their new LP. The four tracks blaze by in nine minutes, and they do not disappoint.

Im ashamed to admit it but Strike Anywheres creepy rodent looking singer put me off them on day 1 ..ANYWAY gonna give these guys a shot any ideas where to start? I love it. That's from "Instinct" (Dead Fm). I don't see a problem with that line at all. BarleyPat: I can't wait to hear the new stuff, but I don't have a turntable, so I guess I'll be either waiting or stealing this. and yes i'm well aware of the typo there. "The Redder, the Better." The two songs which will appear on the full-length are VERY awesome. Wow Bridge 9 is slowly becoming one of my favorite labels. "I don't remember the last time I heard an EP this good. Probably senor and the queen?" "I don't remember the last time I heard an EP this good. Probably senor and the queen?" Exit English got me into them and I still love that album. Dead Fm, on the other hand, was completely lost on me. For some reason I found it boring. This EP brings me back right back though and has me psyched for the full length in a big way, not to mention how awesome it will be to see them play with PBC. solid ep. also, why is it that i just discovered everybody hates chris??? that show is awesome!!! Great little EP they have here.... hard, speed-punk at it's best. I'd hardly call a "teaser" their best work. That said, "Failed State" and "Orphan Age" are some of the best songs they ever written. "Failed State" is incredibly hard, subtle, and less wordy than most of their stuff. The transitions and melodies are perfect. "Orphan Age" sounds like Inquisition guitar riffs mixed with Exit English-era SA and it's absolutely perfect. I'm sad that's a b-side because that ended gang vocal gives me goose bumps. I don't remember the last time I heard an EP this good. Probably senor and the queen? It's good. This is what Strike Anywhere should have done instead of Dead FM. Wouldn't go that far to call this Ep their best output, but it's as solid as I hoped & kinda expected it to be! correction, Crime In Stereo ( not PBC), even better-oldpunker- DC on October 2nd w PBC and Ruiner, i am feeling quite a good show perhaps, or very interesting at the least. Score is for Strike Anywhere, brilliant-oldpunker- Heard this a couple of times. It sounds ace, but I don't seem compelled to listen to it again too much. |
