To say No Age is truly losing feeling feels harsh. But there's no denying the slightly less celebratory vibe present on their newest endeavor, the Losing Feeling EP, and the more concentrated reliance on the band's abstract atmospheres.

Carlo that's because No Age is a smart person's punk band that is not typical to the punk rock that most .org readers follow. If you're looking for the next generic sounding snot voiced Teenage Sodabottle or whatever they're called album or have a stake in Suburban Home Records, this is not for you. This is a more experimental artsy punk for music fans that know their Sonic Youth and Husker Du but have a backbone in SST hardcore and punk. Not for everyone obviously but that's the mindset you have to go into listening to No Age with. This EP blew my mind and I wish it wasn't just 4 songs. Really don't get these...listened to Nouns shit loads of times but just couldn't get into it whatsoever. This EP is in short, great. Had they put out a full length album with these songs, it'd probably be one of the best albums of the year. This is a good ep. But if you're not too into more experimental stuff it'll be a hard listen... it does have less rock. But i'm into that. Listened to a stream of this awhile back and didn't take much away from it. Probably should give it another chance. |
