About Thornbrain:

I'm a music lover and critic. I'd like to make a career out of music criticism, should recording and producing not come to fruition, but at this point it's just a hobby. I incorporate both a .5 - 5 star rating system and letter grades to focus the final rating. This is because some albums may earn a 5/5, but aren't necessarily perfect; for that they might also earn an A-, or just an A if it's something minuscule that annoys me. The grades and stars are specific and nonspecific ratings, respectively. Punk is essentially my music center; I just about love everything remotely connected to punk: Post-Punk, Classic Punk, Protopunk, New Wave, Industrial, Noise. In general, Post-Punk, Experimental, and general Avant-Garde tends to be my favorite music. I love the Clash and they are likely to be a huge influence for me as I explore recording music, particularly their eponymous debut and the eclectic madness of Sandinista!. I also like X, Dead Kennedys, and I have great respect for the Sex Pistols. Never did get into the Ramones, though.
