Nick Oliveri (Dwarves, Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss) avoids jail term

According to a TMZ report, former Queens of the Stone Age and Dwarves bassist Nick Oliveri has managed to avoid jail time in his July 2011 arrest. Police had received a domestic violence call which also noted that Oliveri's girlfriend was being held inside. A SWAT team surrounded the house and the incident became a three hour standoff with police which ended with Oliveri being taken into custody a couple hours later.

When his home was searched, police found a loaded rifle, cocaine, and methamphetamine. Somehow Nick managed to get a dismissal of all the felony charges and is only being charged with one count of possession of cocaine. He will also get three years of probation, and be required to take an anger management course along with 200 hours of community service. His last release with the Dwarves was 2011's The Dwarves Are Born Again.
