New Review Update: Ex Friends; Frank Turner

Hope everyone here had a nice holiday weekend. That combined with a new day job meant that we didn't any new reviews for a bit, but we're back at it today. First, Joe Pelone took a hard look at the new full-length from Ex Friends,
Rules For Making Up Words:

Rules For Making Up Words is the jam. Running through 14 songs in 27 minutes, it delivers rapid fire pop-punk anthems rife with dichotomy. There's humor and sociopolitical analysis in equal measure. Gruff vox segue into interwoven harmonies. Super catchy songs about super bummer topics. This album should have been at the top of P+P's "to do" list.

Then, reader frankiebos516 took in a live Frank Turner performance in New York City:

Turner's indefatigable work ethic and ceaseless touring schedule has amounted his playing 1505 shows as of his performance at Terminal 5 in NYC on Nov. 27, 2013. And like he does so well, he made the 2000+ crowd that night feel like they were a part of that milestone with him, as he thanked the crowd for all of their support and urged them to sing along and become a part of the show throughout.
