Tours: Millencolin to embark on UK tour with Good Charlotte

Millencolin has announced their upcoming UK tour with Good Charlotte. The band, who recently re-signed with longtime home, Burning Heart, is expected to release their latest, as-yet untitled record in March or April of 2005. Their last studio record was 2002's Home From Home.

Ughh. I wasn't expectiing this. I thought Millencolin had more dignity than that. Sure, they have a very poppy sound, but theres nothing really wrong with that as long as they are true to their music. However, the only reason I can think of that Millencolin would go on tour with a bunch of corporate boy-band POP-punk douchebags is that they are now in it for the fame and money. I'm trying not to judge Millencolin too harshly. I mean most of us would take fame and money over our pride. F-ing Good Charlotte though, could've atleast toured with a sold out band that was actually good with their instruments.

Dude. Gimme a break. Fame and Money? Do you even know what openers get? They'll be lucky if they are getting 500 pounds a show for these dates which may actually be less than they would get on their own shows. What better way to get your music in the heads of people who need to learn a thing or two about it?

I hardly think Millencolin sold out. If you've ever played in a band, you'd know that the hardest thing to do is continuously reach new audiences. And what better way to do it than open for a more popular band? Fuck you.

I completely despise GC. However, since Millencolin is my favorite band, I don't have enough anger and/or energy to dispense on bitching about how they are sell outs. People need to learn unconditional love towards their once favorite bands. Sorry for the poor grammar. I really couldn't find another way to say it. P.S.They aren't sell outs. P.P.S Bitching about "the mainstream" and "selling out" is so 2003.

I completely dissagree! I think that Good Charlotte is one of the best bands ever, and they were awesome at the concert last night. Sure, you may say they stink but they're great! They have good tunes and catchy lyrics, no wonder everyone luvs them. Millencolin was pretty good, too! I liked their music

why do all you "punk" douche bags feel like it fucking matters who your favorite punk bands go on tour with. the more people millencolin can play in front of, the better. they're still playing the same fucking soongs you liked the day before, it just happens to be in front of more people! you have the option to leave before good charlotte. fuck, sorry i had to get that out the majority of people who post on these boards are ignorant.

I'll tell you why it matters...If I go to a show, I have to buy a ticket. Tickets cost money. That means if I buy a ticket Good Charlotte will recieve some of my hard earned money. And odds are I'll have to pay alot more money because of GC. I'm sorry, but I'd just have a hard time living with myself knowing that I contributed to the demise of punk. A Scene that was once so great has been watered down and pussified into a whiney fucking highschool fad. This is almost as bad as Bad Religion opening for Blink 182! Is that a good enough reason.

Millencollin makes me HAPPY......i love their stuff...i dont really follow it like the other bands i love, but i enjoy it when i hear it. Good Charlotte licks balls, end of story. Good for Millencollin for getting more exposure with this tour.

bullion was the first millencolin song i had ever heard, that was about 8 years ago. the first time i got the chance to see them was 1 year ago. they did not play bullion. in fact the probably only played a total of maybe 4-5 songs off life on a plate or for monkeys. they did not play bullion. plus they kind of sucked.

I dont see a problem.... Like when bad religion toured with blink182, i think thats good. Cause with this bands can show the kiddies that there are much more maybe better bands ou there than their blinks, sums and charlottes www. Badreligion-area. Ath. Cx

I dunno. Sum 41 has impressed me as of late. Sure that first album that they did that got big was shitty, but this band manages to do what most bands fail at: getting better with time. "Does This Look Infected" was waaay more rock oriented than that poppy piece of shit "All Filler, No Killer" (or whatever the fuck it was called). And their latest outting ("Chuck") is very very metal. Face it, SUm 41 is growing up and starting to play better music. However, Good Charlotte may be the lamest band since Creed.....well....I think U2 is still one of the worst bands of all time....

went to see gc at glasgow on the 22nd and they were bloody amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! missed millencolin though. want to hear what their like!!

Actually I saw them on 24 March (Bristol) and Millencolin were the worst band - and they were actually okay... see where I'm goin with this? Good Charlotte were excellent, the only disappointments being that they didn't play Riot Girl and that they did blow smoke up our asses a little ('You're the best lookin people in England'). But it was a great show, and the Explosion, the other support were amazing. They had great presence and really got the crowd into it - something Millencolin failed to achieve. I did quite like them though. So stop bitchin' about Good Charlotte.
