Some details have been revealed about Bullet in a Bible, the upcoming live DVD from Green Day. The disc itself was announced some time ago, and is scheduled for a November 15th release on CD/DVD.
The disc, which was directed by Samuel Bayer, the same director responsible for the videos taken from the multi-platinum American Idiot. It documents two of the biggest shows in the band's career, both at the Milton Keynes National Bowl in front of 130,000 people in June of this year. Among the contents of the DVD are 100 minutes of performances, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with band members as well as footage of fans. The DVD follows the band's successful album, which has won numerous awards including a Grammy for Best Rock Album and seven MTV Video Music Award nominations. MTV recently aired a piece on the DVD and you can check it out in both Windows Media and Quick Time formats. The band is currently in the last few days of their US tour with Jimmy Eat World. So now that it's been out for a year or so, do people realize how shitty this album is yet? 10+ Replies

Everyone who hates Green Day and calls them sellouts are idiots. Yeah, they signed to a major but the music is fucking good. Plus, with American Idiot, they're more political than many underground punk bands (ie:Guttermouth, Lars Frederikson and the Bastards, etc.). So if you say their music sucks fuck you, you know you like it (and if you don't your not a punk (punk in the true sense of the word (Ramones, Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, Clash, bands who defined the word punk(not hardcore/goth/emo/thrash(even though hardcore is good too.))))) 10+ Replies

I find Green Day boring. Not really appalling, shitty or offensive, but something I could listen to, and not really mind. That's the sign of a band that wants to rock the boat. 3+ Replies

I hate to say it, but I find this album a bit boring. I mean, Jesus of Suburbia is a very good song, but I can't get excited over many other tracks on this album. 2+ Replies

I still find this band intresting. the only thing that pisses me off is the fact that they write political songs that the majority of their audience don't have the capacity to comprehend. Take that song with the lyrics "On holiday"(I don't know the name of the song, but that's not the point.). This song has become an anthem for 13 year old girls that know nothing about the world. MTV cherrishes the song, when a lot of the new album actually attacks mainstream society, albeit not in a huge since. I'm probablly bitching over nothing, but I won't stop and you can't make me. yayforapathy 3+ Replies

I remember way back in the day (like 96 or 97), just when the internet was starting to really take off, Green Day was really pissed about fan websites and ordering them down -- they HATED them -- and Billie Joe said (to USA Today) that "Green Day is not computer friendly." I

ok Political political bleah bleah.. 90% of the people who got into Gren Day because of this piece of garbage cd. Who then go and talk about politics are probably not even old enough to vote. Run to your parents with your make up and ties and tell them to buy this cd for you as a christmas gift. I wish it was 11 years ago and Green Day still meant something to me. 1+ Reply

Respect for the two or three people on here that say FUCK Green Day, because really, FUCK Green Day! Remember back in the early 90's when alternative was all the rage? Yeah, Green Day was a part of that. They weren't marketed as a punk band back then but as soon as 'punk' became extremely marketable, Green Day became the 'punk' band for the masses. You know what that is? I'll answer it for you... That's Crap! Oh well, this is a waste of my fucking time... 2+ Replies

Boo-urns. Fuckin' sell-outs. Why don't you paint your eyelids a darker shade of black. There is an actual point in time when they went from pop-punk to complete douche-bags. When was that? Someone help me out here. 2+ Replies

Question for people who liked Green Day in 1994 do you seriously think this american idiot is better than dookie or insomniac? I am sick of all the praise it gets but I am assuming most of these people just got into Green Day from this one cd so that is why they like it soo much. Also do you think this will sell more copies than Dookie? 3+ Replies

why is everyone saying this is a great band becuase "they're more punk than your band becuase they're political"? being political is fine and dandy. hell i liked Rage. but thats not what defines how punk you are. p.s. anyone who threatens "im not punk" just becuase i dont like a certian album, can have punk. i dont want it if thats what it means.

You people can piss up a rope! green day, one of the most acclaimed bands of our generation, deserves every royalty they get!!! look at how long they stuck it out, man, could you even imagine all the bullshit. Sure from the outside it looks glamorous, think of all the hard work that actually goes into what they do. And they are making a ton of people happy. When days you feel like you have had enough or that no one cares, and you can turn to a band like green day to make it all go away, then so fucking be it !! finally, after 16 years they are getting the recognition they earned. Mainstream or whatever, i am glad they are here. Way to go green day! you are jealous, since when do you people write the rules to music industry? Freedom, power, and the freakin ability to make it, i don't see you rockin'. Or makin the big-bucks either... So shut the hell up. Congrats to green day. 2+ Replies

well personally i only recently got into Green Day but like the old stuff a lot as well as the new album.... if some of you people think Green Day sucks then don't post here! go fuck yourself, cause i'm gonna praise green Day for this... although the "Bullet in a Bible" may come out crappy but that depends on the people making it..... but green day is just standing up for what they believe in, aka telling how stupid bush is and people labeled them as punk..... its labels in this world that screw up everything and fuck all those kids labeled nerds and such as schools or "crazy people" who need help too........ so just don't say anything if you think GD sucks or whatever.... me personally love there music. but that's just my opioions. 4+ Replies

Let's see... first off, I am a Green Day fan. I am a recent listener, but have since gone back to the Kerplunk! days, and like all those songs too. What it all comes down to, is whether you like the music, or you don't. Seriously, I mean, a certain band is not going to define whether or not you are "punk". There are so many different interpretations out there, I don't think there is a set standard, because, if you'd like to admit it or not, by saying "listening to so and so makes you a punk" puts a standard to it. (categorizing things... shudder) Listen or not... who gives a damn? I don't make you listen to Green Day, so please stop your bitching and whining. No one really cares! This probably has nothing to do with anything... but I wanted to say it anyway. 2+ Replies
