The Deftones have completed recording their long-awaited full length. The band is currently headlining the 2006 edition of the Taste of Chaos tour.

The popular alternative metal act recently released their B-Sides & Rarities DVD+CD compilation which included the band's interpretations of Jawbox, Helmet, The Smiths and Duran Duran as well as various rarities.

According to the story:

While sessions started in earnest two years ago for the new project, which, depending on who you ask, could be released in early to late spring (Cunningham) or this summer (Maverick), it wasn't until earlier this year that the Deftones completed recording their fifth album.

The record will be their first since 2003's Deftones and the band plans on previewing material from the record with an "extended" European run in the spring followed by a headlining American jaunt this summer.
