Information on the retail version of the Green Day / U2 charity single is now available. The release will be put out by Universal/Mercury and will hit stores in the first week of November. Two versions of the Skids cover "The Saints Are Coming" will be featured, a studio version and a live cut recorded at the re-opening of the New Orleans Superdome on September 25, 2006. The studio version was produced by Rick Rubin and recorded in London's Abbey Road Studio.

The bands collaborated on the song to benefit Music Rising, an organization that replaces musicians' instruments that were lost in hurricanes and flooding of last summer. The single is also set to be featured on U2's new "Best Of" compilation.
