Monty Are I recently began filming acoustic performances recorded in various subway systems around the country. The band is "touring" in support of their new album, Wall of People.

That song is teeeeeeeeeeerrible acoustic. And don't give me the "It's terrible anyway" because I used to like this band before each subsequent shitty name change.

yes, but this sound has been about 5 releases in the making. they had one ska cd, the subsequent hearts bleeding ep was more like this sound, then they re released that ep (closer to this sound), then they had another EP (even closer to this sound), tour only ep followed by the full length....

when did that single ska cd come out?

Less than that, there was the ska CD in 2000, then the s/t EP, then the Red Shift, most if not all of which ended up on Wall Of People.

ska in 2000,

s/t ep after that, which they later released (a year later?) with an extra song, so i counted it twice because it was essentially another push toward this sound

then the red shift which is pretty much all on this album

then a tour ep

then this album

point being, they only had the ska sound for one album 7 years ago. everything else has essentially been this sound

this band was pretty ok live. the best part was the keyboard/trombone player who, for the first three songs, would pick up his trombone, and play it like a guitar. meaning he was playing air guitar. he didn't use that poor trombone until the fifth song.

I've never got why bands strip down their songs when busking. If anything, they should embellish it to the extreme, dude.

If I had been in one of those cars, I honestly would have screamed at him to shut the fuck up until he stopped. I had to bail on that video after about 10 seconds, and I can't imagine being subjected to a whole song of it. Something like this should've happened instead:
