Detroit, MI-based Rescue have decided to call it a day. The band has announced a final show to take place on April 28th at the Magic Stick in Detroit.
Formed in 2000 as a side project, the group went on to release a number of records, including Volume Plus Volume in 2002 and Flamingo Minutes in 2004. Their final record was Paranoid released on Suburban Sprawl Music. Slowdance Records (29 comments)

Not a big fan, but a Saturday night show with a decent band sounds better than a stick in the eye, which is what I usually do on Saturday nights if there's nothing going on. They should add the Swellers to the bill, then I'll go for sure. That last EP of theirs fucking rules, and I haven't had a chance to see them live since being turned on to them a few months ago. I would have loved to go see them with Smoke Or Fire last night in Southgate, but the likely result of falling asleep in an early-morning meeting with the company president probably wouldn't have been a good idea. I hate having to be responsible and hold down a job. I wish I could be one of those poser crust-punks from East Grand Rapids with unbelievably rich parents and a trust fund waiting for me when I finally decide to get my shit together. Instead, I'm the son of a milkman and a girl fro show rest of comment 2+ Replies

Saw these guys with The Q and Not U at the Shelter awhile back. Did leave much of an impression short of their name. 3+ Replies

Meh... I never really liked this band. Their live show was pretty good, but everytime their stuff comes on on my computer the next track button is clicked.

First off, they did not release Phone Numbers. That was a different band with the same name.

Bummer. They never really regrouped after they were in that awful van accident in '04, although it was good to stumble across them at the Fest V last year, I honestly had no idea they were still active. 1+ Reply

Rescue ruled. I hope the members continue on to other projects, because they were all badass musicians.

Though I don't listen to their albums as much as I used to, these were talented guys.

Damn it. This is one of probably 5 bands left for me to see in my lifetime.

It's sad to see them go. I like their last album. My favorite is flamingo minutes. | Features
