Mikey Way taking a leave of absence from My Chemical Romance

Bassist Mikey Way is temporarily leaving My Chemical Romance to spend time with his new wife. The popular band will continue on with a currently unnamed replacement until Way is able to return to active duties. Mikey married his fiancée Alicia Simmons at on March 8th in Las Vegas.

Way's brother and band frontman Gerard commented:

The band has decided to give him and his wife a much needed break from the road to start a life and have a proper honeymoon and do all the things a newlywed couple should do.

I'm very proud to announce my brother's recent marriage. Watching him grow up into a man and finding love makes me the happiest brother alive. I know this is upsetting news, as it is for us, but we will continues to tour with a temporary replacement until he has situated himself in his new life.

The band released The Black Parade last year.

I have way more respect for this band compared to New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, Sum 41, The Used, and whatever other MTV "punk" bands are around now. I saw them at Warped Tour 2 years ago and they talked to the crowd about girls respecting themselves and I thought it was pretty cool.

there's a san diego college?

there's university of san diego, san diego state, and uc san diego that i know of.

anyways, a lot of punk comes out of the East Bay, but a lot of really cool shit has been coming out of LA for the past few years. san diego is home to Swami records, that's all you really need to know.

oh, also, it's so nice outside, the last 4 days have been orgasmic, totally worth waiting the extra month of MYC winter for. hell, i'd actually listen to MCR everyday if it was always this nice.

that won't happen though, so i think it'll be the new Frenzal Rhomb or maybe a little "Rev" on the way to work in a few minutes.
