Poison Idea, Lower Class Brats, Forgotten, Stitches at TKO 10th Weekender

TKO Records has announced the full details for their 10th Anniversary Weekender. A trio of Californian shows from July 20th through the 22nd will celebrate the label's first decade. The event will bring together bands like the Forgotten, Antiseen, Glass Heroes, Lower Class Brats, Smut Peddlers, the Stitches, Krum Bums, 46 Short, Broken Bottles, Poison Idea, Smogtown, Those Unknown and the Crowd among others.

The label describes the event thusly:

That's right, we're celebrating 10 years of losing our hide.Instead of boohooing about downloads, we're throwing a fiesta ese. Well, a few to be correct. Be prepared to have your blood switched out a few times KEITH RICHARDS style after this blowout.

Seeing the Stitches and Poison Idea in the same night sounds like a dream. That's one of those shows where you gotta get a few buddies to throw in some dough for a preshow keg. Two of the best party bands of all time.

Really? I've heard nothing but bad things. The gist I get is that it's over the top, corny, and emotionless, the only saving grace is that it's aware of its own absurdity.

Not that I've seen it yet, but I'd be sort of dissapointed if a Transformers movie wasn't over the top. You're not exactly there for subtlety and introspection.

This woulda been a sweet movie had it came out when young people knew what Transformers were, now it is just a bunch of people my age (early 20s) buying tickets, I need to drag a kid along to make it seem like I am there because they wanna go.

Make sure to get there early for the Coming Attractions and watch the trailer with the "BAD ROBOT" logo at the start. That teaser looks insane.

I agree that no one goes to a movie about 30 foot morphing robots for some subtle commentary on the socio-political climate of America. You go to see shit get blown up and watch crazy special effects. But, at the same time you can do that without making a movie look hackey or by simply relying on special effects and lifelong Transformers fans and (from what I gather) that's all Bay did. He knew people would see it because they loved Transformers and he knew people would see it to see giant robots and that's all he did. There's no real acting and no good story. And even with giant robots that only equals 2/3 of a story.

P.s. the only movie I've ever seen that had enough great action to bypass all story was Ong Bak.
