Dropkick Murphys and Big D and the Kids Table will be touring together beginning at the end of February. The Dropkicks are supporting The Meanest of Times while Big D is gearing up to work their next album for SideOneDummy.

In case people haven't seen my post in any of the many previous threads or just aren't quite tired of reading it yet:

Does anybody have 2 tickets that they can sell at a reasonable (face value-ish) price for the Seattle show on Feb 28th? Please. I love these guys and I had no idea they would actually sell out the SoDo (fucking Departed soundtrack) and to be honest they're not great enough to justify >= $70 to go see. Please let me know

I went to their last tour together like 2 years ago and had a good time, but the crowds suck so bad. So many people, so many assholes. I don't think I'll be seeing dropkick again.

Finally someone that understands the idea that a bands crowd can ruin a going to shows for a band! Everyone just calls me an idiot because i skip shows because i dont feel like dealing with assholes at shows..

Yeah, I like Dropkick okay, it's just that the crowd is full of obnoxious drunk tough guys and disinterested yahoos who're there just to be there. (That's what ruined seeing the Hold Steady for me, too.)

Exactly. I'll be seeing dropkick because I have yet to see them outside Warped Tour.

Flogging Molly was like that for me. So many drunk idiots. and college frat boys.

Thats why I stopped going to Rise Against shows a couple years ago. Their crowd was filled with meatheads who decided to start a mosh pit to swing life away.

Yeah it gets annoying. I had people trying to mosh and crowd surf while the agrrolites were playing at Bumbershoot (in Seatte). seriously rediculous.

For some reason Bumbershoot attracts all the jock heads that want to prove their manhood in a mosh pit. I remember people trying to mosh at a Sky Cries Mary show.

Same boat as you in terms of rise against. when i had someone fuckin reach over and sock me in the face to steal the setlist out of my hand i figured i was done going to rise against shows. Nothing beats seeing them in a shitty little venue with like 30 other people when they were touring on the unraveling anyway.

i love dropkick's music, but i agree. their crowds are the shittiest i've ever seen. ive been in hardcore pits better than theirs. no thanks. and as for big d, i'd rather see them with other bands where im not gonna get the shit kicked out of me. im there to enjoy the music and see a band i love, not wind up with a fuckin concussion.

if it was the same tour it was more like 2005 than 2006 I'm pretty sure and I had a good time compared to the crowds at some things. The pit was pretty great but I've never seen so many bro-dudes and frat guys in my life as there was at the bar.

like another poster here, i too saw them about 2-3 years ago when they toured together, and i agree, the crowds were the worst ive ever experienced. it wasn't that people were there to have a good time and some got out of hand..these people were deliberately being dipshits and fuckheads, and i almost got into a fight with a 300 lb dude because his fat ass couldn't see dropkick from where he was crouched...also, the show sucked because the people at the docks (now sound academy) don't know how to set up the mics for horns of any sort. so Big D sounded lame that night.

Ha, i was at the docks show too! I'll admit that the crowd was kind of lame, and lets face it, the Docks always had lame sound. But nonetheless, i still enjoyed myself and Big D was tight as always (despite the sub par sound). .

can you really judge a tour based on the crowds? its just bad luck...

ive seen dropkick (boston, 2 warped tours, 1 NYC, 1 starland, 1Washington dc, 1 philly, 1 boston) 8times and of course u're going to get a few "hooligans"....but for the most part its a good time.

they always switch up the set list (pending what tour/show you go to)...and its just a flat out good time.

big d is a good opener

Unfortunately, I can see a larger band like them having a shit crowd. I've never seen them live, had the opportunity once, skipped it. Well, didn't skip it, I realized spending the cash wasn't smart. I saw Big D and their crowd was fucking awesome, I just couldn't picture going to a Big D show in some huge stadium like venue. Then again, Anti-Flag didn't come to St. Louis with them.

Big D needs to play Cafe Metro again. The time they played in the parking lot because none of us were able to get in still ranks as the greatest musical moment of my life. I won't be going to this tour; I haven't been able to get into any Murphys albums since "The Gang's All Here."

Totally stoked about the line, "while Big D is gearing up to work on their next album for SideOneDummy."

Anyone know if they'll ever get around to releasing that DVD?
