Tours: Foxboro Hot Tubs

Foxboro Hot Tubs (essentially Green Day with touring guitarist Jason White and touring multi-instrumentalist Jason Freese) have announced some club dates later this month. The band recently digitally released their debut, Stop Drop and Roll!!!. A physical release is expected on May 20, 2008.

I can't stand the lack of bar and anywhere to sit besides the dirty, dirty ground. They should just play at The Casbah.

i would never go to a venue called "The Casbah."

it just seems like every piece of shit would go on and on about how they are going to "Rock the Casbah."

You would figure that would be true but it actually is an awesome place and the bands that usually play there know better than that. It's been around in the San Diego scene for a while.

Plus most of the bands that hit San Diego that pull crap like that tend to stick to "Whales Vagina" jokes. That got old after the first time I heard that.

that would be sweet if they came to the east coast...actually it would be FUCKING sweet if pinhead gunpowder came to the east coast. i wonder when the recess 7" is coming out, it is supposed to be this month.

there is 2 stages...

They are playing the small, sidestage which holds a few hundred people. The main room holds like 1500-2500 (depending on promoter/guestlists, if they move tables/chairs)

The Sidestage doesn't hold more than 500 seats.

They shift shows though. If the presale is large enough they will move it up. Subhumans show there was mainstage but presales lagged and they downgraded it. Then it was a mess. They seem to forget that their old staple (punk) tends to draw day-of ticket sales in larger numbers than their new cash cow (the crappy sound of the moment bands).

The brickhouse in Phoenix is a decent size venue. I saw The Good Life there a few months ago and it fit about 200-250 comfortably with a lot of room to spare

Yeah, I've seen bands like Good Riddance, The Toasters, and Bane (mistake) there, if that gives you an idea of the size.

Brickhouse is good for this show. I saw the Casualties and Lower Class Brats there when i was in high school. Also thats the place that got Leftover Crack banned from Phoenix. True story.

I doubt they will all sellout. Especially since the dates are announced a week before they play. I doubt they are tagging the flyers as (Green Day) since they seem to like to play small shows in secret.

There should be about 5 people constantly yelling for "Going To Pasalacqua" or "2000 Light Years Away." The old school or no school types, that probably got into Green Day 3 years ago.

i once was really trashed watching a Green Day tribute band (don't ask), and i kept heckling them to play "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?" and "Christie Road." I was really vocal about it.

They played "2000 Light Years Away" and asked if I'd stop yelling.

I love it, they release a #1 best selling album and everyone starts hating em, but when they do something somewhat cool like play small clubs people still look for every reason imaginable to talk shit.

this is pretty cool.
