Ceremony has posted some music from their forthcoming new release. The new record is the follow up to 2006's Violence Violence.

I didn't like Violence Violence that much and listened to it because I had heard so many good things about the band, I guess I don't like new hardcore that much in general.

I am not into these guys either, check out Have Heart if you want some good hardcore.

check out have heart if you want to hear some pretty generic hardcore with far too many gang vocals that is nowhere near as intense or energetic as ceremony

... the song title, as written in the lyrics right there on the myspace player, is "He - God - Has Favored Our Undertakings." so, yes, it does make more sense.

It COULD be awesome (because of the blistering energy), if they played on time with each other and maybe got a recording that sounded like it cost more than $100. I seriously would never pay money for a CD that sounds like a demo tape (which fuels the whole piracy debate).
Come to a show in Santa Cruz sometime. its either 8 bands on a bill that all sound like this, or deathcore (this is way better than deathcore by the way).

I guess I miss music that is FAST, ENERGETIC, yet requires a little more advanced musicianship (not just fast just because), but doesn't have a never ending quest to be more "brutal" than anything before it (i hate deathcore if you can't tell).

I thought Violence Violence was incredible and did establish a distinctive sound for them. I was less thrilled with the EP that followed because it sounded a bit more generic-y like you mention.

The only band I've heard that really sounds like them to me (almost ape-ing them at some points) is Trash Talk but there certainly could be more I haven't heard.

are you in a band or do you have any recordings of anything you've done? this is a serious question because i see you comment on here about various recordings from bands and how they sound. i always read with interest.

i dont understand why anybody would waste their time critiquing the structure and recording of any hardcore/punk band.

ceremony would eat you.

This sounds much better on vinyl. They are selling this song as a 7" single on their current tour, and the b-side is this really cool post-rockish instrumental tune. I'm excited for the full length. This late summer/fall is going to rule hard... I Rise, Fucked Up, Ceremony, and many more.
