Weezer puts on the brakes regarding next full length

After reports suggested that Weezer would be back in the studio by November, guitarist Brian Bell suggested that this isn't actually the case via Spinner.com:

Someone jumped the gun. We're still going to focus on promoting the 'Red' album, and when we have the songs and the time feels right, we'll record. [The dynamic] within the band has shifted towards being more collaborative, and a safer place for people to bring ideas to and actually be heard.

The band released The Red Album in 2008.

you know honestly, the red album is good

its not close to the blue album or pinkerton, but its not bad. i saw them live in st. paul, mn, and i had an amazing time.

if you give it a chance, and you don't compare it to their early stuff, i think you'll enjoy it.

I just saw Weezer for my first time ever last Friday in Vancouver. I have loved them since I was 14, and that was half my life ago, and they did not disappoint. However, Egos and Airwaves opened for them. I know that once something is seen, it can't be unseen, but the image still burns my mind. I don't do drugs, but no amount of drinking will "stop the machine". How can I erase the horrible doucheyness (for lack of a real word) from my brain? Please help.
