New Propagandhi record expected this winter

Chris Hannah of Winnipeg's Propagandhi has confirmed that the band's as yet untitled new record is expected to be released as early as "February or March" (with a US release on Fat Wreck Chords). Responding to a number of questions issued to the band by Punknews contributer crackpotdemagogue, Hannah also confirms that there will be "about 13 songs" on the new record, citing five tentative song-titles as "Supporting Caste", "Tertium Non Datur", "Human(e) Meat", "Funeral Procession" and "Dear Coach's Corner". The band are currently hard at work within the confines of their own Winnipeg based Illegal Combatant Studios, and will, according to Hannah, "finish it up starting next Tuesday at the Blasting Room in Colorado".

Propagandhi last released Potemkin City Limits in 2005.

you've got it all wrong.

what you need to do is build a track-bike out of spare parts and recycled beer cans (not ones that you drank). bike over to walmart, throw a brick through their window, then go steal the music off of a torrent (because propagandhi aren't capitalists, why should they care?)

also, please make sure that your stereo (or mp3 player) is completely organic and runs off some sort of renewable energy source.

also, i'm proud to say i've never set foot in a walmart.

My old roommate used to make me shop there all the time. Of course, he was a diehard Republican, so the exploitation of the working class in the US and in China was not really of concern to him. I refuse to fucking shop there unless it is a dire emergency - like I find myself in some shithole small town and it's the only place open at 3 AM and my cat needs meds or something.

I used to occasionally browse Walmart because there was a 24 hour one near where I lived, and there's nothing cooler than running around a store at midnight as a young punk, yeeeeeah!

Since then....once on Christmas Eve, because they were pathetically the only store open late.

I finally heard Less Talk, More Rock for the first time about two months ago. I honestly thought it was a little ridiculous. The liner notes made me howl with laughter.

I see and hear a number of people who (like on this news post) take a sharp turn down D4 Avenue when politico bands and songs are mentioned, as if stating the name is proof enough to make them the bench mark of (anti)establishment/religious song writing.

I call foul.

I'm not saying that Dillinger Four does a terrible job at being socio-political - they just generally don't do it with a whole lot of maturity. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing in the world of punk rock, but I'd like to think that Propagandhi stand proudly as the deserved kings of that genre (as well as, yes, Bad Religion. I said it).

For me, "The Classical Arrangement" < "Reusing to be a Man" as far as eloquent dissent is concerned. That's a bit vague, I'm aware, and probably a bit unbalanced, but it's the best way, in a single example, to illustrate my point.

if i ever saw that in a record store, i'd probably shit my pants. i got the 8 songs off that LP and the other 4 non-released songs off of soulseek like 5 years ago but they're mp3s ripped from vinyl so obviously the sound quality isn't that good. i always wanted to hear them straight from the record.

Damn, I've only got the lp. I'd like to have those other 4 songs. I actually love mp3s ripped from vinyl it always sounds 'warm' does that make sense? I'd like to have those mp3s. I've got a few converted but I have a couple of bad pops that prevent ripping them any better.

I haven't followed Behind Enemy Lines, but I think I should.

I really don't understand this whole, "D4 doesn't do it with a lot of maturity," statement. If you said NOFX or something I would tend to agree, but Dillinger Four, come on.

I like Propagandhi a lot, but there style is way different than Dillinger Four. Propagandhi is blunt and some may even say abrasive. D4 is socially conscious and more subtle with their jabs.

goddamn you both I asked for good pop punk last week. Just by the clips I can tell this is aces. Most of "these bands" seem to have 1 or 2 good songs per album. I understand part of the fun of the style is simply pop-punk for pop-punk's sake, but there are really only like 3 teenage bottlerocket songs I would listen to consistently. I've always liked the one MTX album i have (....And the Women who Love Them)....gimme some more...please sir, I want some more....

I have School of Liberty and it is pretty good in my opinion. I like what I've heard of the pop punk bands you listen to, but I have no idea if you'll like this. It's pretty straight forward and the lyrics are kind of silly, but I dig the music.

The line is pretty blurry. Some people on here take it pretty far though. Someone in a thread from about a week ago said that both the Lawrence Arms and Gaslight Anthem were pop punk. That's not what I think of at all.
